Default TPMS Advice Needed

Hi, so I recently replaced the tires and wheels and I’ve attempted to use the change wheel set reset feature in the car and the TPMS sensors just aren’t picking up any advice?

Which tpms you’re using?
And how long did you drive the car with the car trying to read the new sensors.

See post #18. I’m using the OEM tpms for the LC500. They’re expensive but they guaranteed to work.

I ordered from TPMS.com. I have had three drives each was at least 20-30 minutes. I thought surely long enough to make a sync.

and thanks for the reply. Your blue LC is amazing. I'm stressed about this TPMS situation, I don't want to have to have these wheels/tires remounted. I know something is gonna get scratched every F time I go.

With respect to resetting the TPMS, below are the steps that I used and so far no issues with both OEM and non-OEM TPMSs. I just swapped out of summer into the all seasons.

Start the engine and keep the vehicle in PARK.
  1. Select “Settings” (gear icon) using the steering wheel LEFT/RIGHT buttons.
  2. Select “Vehicles Settings” then press and hold the center OK button.
  3. Select “TPWS” (Tire Pressure Warning System), then select “Change Wheel.”
  4. Press and hold the OK button until the TPMS warning light flashes 3 times.
  5. Drive the vehicle for 10-30 minutes, staying above 25mph when possible, and the light will turn off once the sensors are registered. Note: Refrain from reversing and driving in heavy traffic during the relearn process.

Park and allow the tires to cool for at least 3 hours.
After the light has turned off, place the vehicle in PARK and select “Settings” again.
  1. Select “Vehicle Settings” then press and hold the OK button.
  2. Select “TPWS”, then select “Set Pressure.”
  3. Press and hold the OK button until the TPMS warning light flashes 3 times.
  4. Drive the vehicle for 10-30 minutes, staying above 25mph when possible, and the light will turn off once the current tire pressures values are accepted

ok. So I drove for an hour last night and just as I was pulling into the garage they paired up and are working correctly.

this is also after ordering new OEM sensors from Lexus parts now .com. So, if any needs OEM sensors I guess I’ll have some for sale!

thanks NickL.

That’s great news. I would return or cancel the OEM tpms as you will have a hard time getting back what you paid for.
