Yeah there's something wrong with how they're recording time on this video. Both stopwatches start roughly the same time, here's the first frame when they measure time/speed and are slightly misaligned (18 milliseconds):

And then when the car's speedometer exceeds 100 km/h they're 1031 milliseconds off:

One of these two clocks is wrong. Odds are it's the top one, since the LC500 didn't just magically gain a second of 0-60 time with no significant mechanical upgrades.
Agree that dropping a full 1” isn’t very likely.
Off topic inquiry, did it take a period of adjustment getting use to the 2024 touchscreen (Aesthetically speaking ) versus the 2021 in dash screen?

Funny you should ask, as I was just in my friend's 2020 Inspiration Edition last weekend and got a reminder of the pre-2024 interface. We tried to use the car's navigation to find a local diner while driving and it was practically impossible. I ended up pulling out my phone and navigating with that.

Two of our other cars have Android Auto so it's much easier to hop from car to car and have the interface stay the same. My main annoyance with Android Auto is that the FM radio controls aren't built in, you have to exit Android Auto to get to the car's interface. And Toyota's new FM radio control system is pretty bad on its own. As long as you're streaming or listening to podcasts from your connected phone, Android Auto in the '24+ cars is super easy to use. It's not as good looking / stylish as the earlier interior though.

I appreciate your feedback, thanks. Regarding your friend’s 2020 model it’s my understanding he can utilize voice command to handle navigation and other functions once programmed. Wouldn’t that circumvent relying on the trackpad directly?

Google has said this is one of their things for future android auto releases. My guess is it's pretty complicated given how each manufacturer likely does AM/FM tuning differently, and building that all in to AA interface to work universally can't be a small feat.

I wish Google/Android Auto would fix how us LC owners with a touchpad can't highlight the arrow on the right side of the search bubble on Google Maps to minimize the Search bars history. It's odd that in other Lexus models with a touchpad, users can minimize the search history, but us with a $100k car can't. I sent a feedback report to Google the other day describing the issue and I encourage others who use Android Auto to do the same.

I agree honestly Google should default this to be minimized. The number of times I've looked at that bar and said "hey thats where I'm going!" is exactly 0. In fact it usually only suggest places I've been nearby or previously looked up, in which case I already know where im going. To me the default should be minimized and only expand it if you need to use it at all

If you could take a few minutes and go to the google assistant on your phone, click on your info/icon in the top right corner, click on feedback, write up a few lines explaining the Android Auto issue with the model car you have and then send it to them it might help. Make sure you state how that arrow can't be highlighted and how it's not clickable via the touchpad. The more of us that send them info about the problem, the better chance we have that they will fix it.

Default The Texas Mile - March 22, 2025

Some track play yesterday in Texas.

Various runs with 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, and 1 mile trap speeds. Partial to the Lexus LC500 and Audi R8.

The something wrong is that the top stopwatch repeats 0-1 twice, & so the real time is 4.8, which makes perfect sense

Default LC500h vs. LC500

I didn’t expect the RPMs to be that similar between the two.

V-8

Calling BS. Goofy video, has 2 timers. 60m/h = 96.6km/h. If you look at 0:43 in the video, at 22km/h, you can see the top timer resets to 0, while the lower timer continues from 1.03. At 0:47 in the video, the speed is 96km/h, almost 60m/h. The timer at the top, which is 1 sec behind, says 3.650, while the timer at the bottom shows 4.666, which is 'correct'.

The vast majority of people familiar with the LC 500 would agree the bottom timer is the accurate one. Many sources have confirmed/stated it’s a mid 4 second 0-60 MPH performer.
