Default Last dance for Iconic LC500 V8,2026”pinnacle”edition

Is there any confirmation to the rumor that the 2025 is the Final Year of LC500 and NA V8?

I'm looking to get a coupe with dynamic handling package, I don't want to see price shoot up even more because they're being discontinued.

Thanks,

nobody knows and nobody will know until it's announced by Lexus. Just a few weeks ago there was a whacky rumor that 2026 model would have a facelift. Just earlier this week someone posted something about being told by a dealer that 2025s were not being sold and any deposit placed would be for a 2026 MY.

Anybody's guess. My guess from having spoken with Lexus insiders at the performance driving school event, their inkling was that 2026 will still have an LC. Personally I don't think they'll discontinue it without an announcement of some kind of "Final" version like they've done with the RCF.

Thanks for the great info!
Hopefully they don't mean keep it by only having v6 hybrid option?

My gut tells me this is last year for V8. I have a Toyota tundra and the new generation is a disaster by going turbo/hybrid only. Same with new tacoma.

The Hybrid LC does not sell well outside of markets that tax the V8 to a painful place.
No way to imagine them dropping the V8 for the Hybrid (not the first time someone here talked about this topic).
On top of that the convertible is the biggest seller of the versions and that does not currently come in Hybrid form.

As a new, hopeful owner, have never seen, sat, nor driven 2025 LC 500. I invested lots of time reviewing it. Lots of +/- but not one reviewer (that I read) had anything to say except this is perhaps the best normally aspirated V8 engine on the planet. Many suggested this engine was doomed for environmental/obsolesce etc. reasons. This V8 placed in the LC ALWAYS bugged the reviewers' eyes out with its exhaust song and smooth rpm response. Anyway, it's a marketing stroke (promoted by whom?) that hints (on speculation) it is soon to go away. LOL cause it worked on me. Scrambling to grab.

However, my bet is Toyota will keep it into foreseeable future and keep us guessing and buying. Savvy folks.

The GM at my Lexus dealer stated this on Friday;
It is my understanding that in 2026 we will still have the V8 engine and they're going away with the hybrid engine. As it stands now everything is still subject to being confirmed. I'll poke around the inner circle some more. Rumors out there are talking about a twin-turbo V8 Lexus before 2030.

There will indeed be a twin turbo V8. The new Lexus or Toyota GT3 program will be based on this engine following the retirement of the RCF GT3 in 2026.

This would be great for me, as I just placed an order for a new LC 500 on 5/15/25. I would prefer a 2026 as that may be the last year. Time will tell.....

This article from 2024 stated that the RC & LC will be replaced in 2026.
Recently Lexus announced the RC F final edition for 2025.
Article might be accurate for LC500 as well, since production for new model is set to start in April 2026.
