Default Discounted Lexus Extended Warranty

Hello. I am thinking about purchasing a Lexus extended warranty after my original one expires in a couple of months. Are all of the dealers the same? Does anyone know the typical costs for such warranties? Is there a good dealer to contact for a discounted extended warranty? Thank you.

You can read this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lc-...-warranty.html
and this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lc-...-question.html

10 year (including 4 year factor warranty) / 100K miles is ~$3,200. I picked up one from my local dealer for few hundred bucks more.

Yes all Lexus extended warranties are from the date of delivery to the original owner. No matter who purchases the warranty. Bruce in Fl

My 4yr warranty just expired (I have had my LC since new) and I opted out of an extended warranty.

I would not have bought an extended warranty if it is an ES or RX. Given the price of the parts on the LC, it is just a peace of mind for another 6 years after factory warranty expires. If not now, I would definitely buy it when the factory warranty expires in 4 years. It is a personal choice anyway.

I went in last Tuesday for my annual oil change, check over, fluids top off, And for them to check out the non auto driver's seat move forward for the back seats.
The SA estimated $120 on the seat diagnosis, until I mentioned the extended. It took him about 5 minutes computer time to verify the warranty. Which perturbed me a bit as l verified it was in their system 3 years ago.
I think the Extended is worth it for the loaner car if nothing else.

it is. mine covered the second door actuator; the first was under oem warranty.
caveat emptor tho; your "extended warranty " is a actually a service agreement, and you should read every word of it

Someone one here may remember this better than I. This was 3 or so years ago. I think this was an LC, the discussion was here I know. There was talk of a heavily modified Lexus, I think it was an LC and a lot of it was sound system stuff. I think there was a front camera install also. There was an off hand comment by the owner, I think maybe on a YouTube vid that the dealer was giving him hassle over his mods.
Shockingly enough, there was an employee of the dealer in question that was a member of the forum. He said he was familiar with the car and that some of the mods were done in less than professional manners. I think the car was still under factory warranty. The poster said that there had been serious behind the scenes discussion with Management at the dealership about voiding the owners warranty. But that finally, they decided not to.
I was surprised that they would do that.
Even more surprised that someone would mention it in public.

Lightbulb Extended Warranties - Dealership - big money maker

Been discussed before, but maybe you didn't ' see it.

"Extended Warranties" are one of the biggest money makers for dealers.

"Service" is also another money maker for dealerships.

So buyer beware.

Good Luck.

YMMV,
MidCow3

P.S. -- There are also those who will tell you how the "Extended Warranties " paid off and they saved tons and tons of money. ...and remember everything on the Internet , especial forum testimonials is absolutely true.

P.S.S. - However, if you are still inclined to get an extended warranty for peace of mind, go for one a guy "Jerry" sells best price

Sorry , I didn't realize you didn't know how to use the thread search feature or that you hadn't reviewed any of the other many threads on extend warranty. Here is one reference https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...l#post11720736 There are many., many more

YMMV,

P.S. - Jerry sell's Lexus warranties at a discount.

That is correct, so you would have double coverage the first 4 years. That's the catch. You could get an extended warranty after your factory one ends, but it would be $6k+.......as I was told anyway.

I'm not too concerned about the mechanical aspects of the car. What worries me is the electronics. I had a 2008 IS-F. Touchscreen went out would have been $7k to replace. Extended warranty covered everything minus the $100 deductible.
