Expected maintenance costs? Wind deflector?
I have just bought an LC500 convertible, a 2021 with 21k miles on it. What kind of maintenance costs and schedule should I expect with my car? How long to the brakes tend to last? What needs to be done and can it be taken anywhere trustworthy or does it need to go to a dealer?
What are the thoughts over a windscreen? I see they are really expensive through the dealer but are sometimes cheaper on eBay. How much of a difference do they make? I have liked the ones I have in the past.
It has four months left on the warranty. It seems to be solid and running fine. I'm inclined to not extend the warranty as the car's reliability is considered great.

At 30k you should do a brake flush and diff drain and fill, nothing major beyond that due until 60k.

Are you saying that your car doesn't have the wind deflector? It should, as this is not an optional part. If you bought from a dealership, maybe you can push them to get you one either free, or at a reduced cost. Honestly it makes a huge difference in wind buffeting. I had mine out for several days while I was painting it to match my interior, and couldn't wait to get it back in. I never take it out.
I don’t think the car did have the wind deflector. It does have the little glass part. I was under the impression the wind deflector was an aftermarket part. Is it standard equipment?

It does make a massive difference to buffeting though, highly recommended.
Theres also a non genuine copy part that’s often on eBay for much less, but it’s very agricultural looking in comparison around the hinges and frame, not Lexus quality at all - if you’re buying one I’d recommend the genuine part despite the cost.
I’m in the UK and here the deflector is an option, price equivalent of close to 1500 dollars!

In the US the wind snap-in/snap-out wind deflector is standard with the vert. (At least 2024 and 25.) You can also buy it from Lexus accessories for $800 last time I checked. Personnally, although it is typical Lexus high quality, I don't care for it much and mine spends most the time in its very nice carrying bag.
I am curious. . . I never drive with the top down and windows up. When I'm topless, windows always down. I did not notice a huge difference with the deflector in place in this config while on typical residential roads (35-45 MPH speed limits). I am wondering if the folks saying it makes a big difference have all windows down also, or are they up?

No point in trying to buffet wind with the windows down.
