Default 5k Service Oil Quantity

Got my 5k service done last week. Is this the right amount of oil? Just wanted to get reassurance thanks!

That looks correct unless they charge by the tenths......9.1 qt to be exact.

Yup most dealers will bill you the full quart even if only partially used. I've only ever been to one dealership that actually billed to the tenth.

Could be why dealerships tend to overfill; not allowing enough time for oil to drain, then adding more than what was drained. Depending on how busy they are, my guess is techs do a 5 min drain time, leaving quite a bit of leftover oil (more so if car has been sitting and oil temp is cold).

9.1 rounded to 10 but it’s unknown bulk oil. I’m sure it meets API standards but it’s the least expensive Dino oil they can purchase. Shouldn’t be an issue but change it on time. Did you pull your dipstick and verify it’s close. They keep overfilling mine.
