Default LC500 Alarm

So I just picked up a 2018 LC500 with 9500 miles. Car is clean, and runs , looks great. The car was not used much as it was a weekend car, so the battery was weak when i bought it, but was on a trickle charger most of the time. I took the car to get window tints, PPF and paint correction. The shop told me that the alarm keeps going on. The car died since the battery was low, so I picked up the car and drove it home. the car alarm went off while I was driving, it would last like 45 secs then shut off and go off again in 15-20 seconds. I hit all the buttons on the remote and it would not shut off. Got home, parked it into the garage and locked it up. it has not gone off yet, but now Im a bit worried about taking it out again. The only thing I think that would maybe cause this, is a weak battery, but with the car running, not sure how that would happen, I tried to look this up on Club Lexus, but I did not find anything on the subject. Any thoughts........

Had a similar issue with that on another car of mine. I replaced the battery (the car battery, not alarm) and the problem went away. Didn't have to do any sort of 'reset' with the alarm itself.

Welcome, by the way! I'm in the 630 area

Ik I’m a bit late but I just got a new 24 LC. I take my car to get tinted a week later and same issues with very loud alarm sound along with my tire pressure system alert going off. Did you ever find the solution as to the reason why?

Yes, when they did side or the front windshield, some water made its way down to the fuse panel under the drivers side. It then started to arc out the alarm circuit in my case, probably with another hot circuit and tripping the car alarm. Once they cleaned out by using a blow dryer and pulling out all fuese, they also added some die electrical grease, since then no issues

I don’t tint anymore but when I used to I was always concerned about where all that soapy water went and made sure there were towels in place to catch it.

I can see why now, our situations are similar due to the water from the tint job possibly. My question now is who pays for this to get fixed? Me, the tint shop, or the dealer? I’d hate to have to pay out of pocket for this tbh. Also thanks for the quick response.

in my case, I had just bought the car and had it for all of 2 days before I handed it over to the shop, what I should have done was drove it for a month and made sure that all was well before giving them the car, I could not blame them afterwards since the car was used and I didn’t have it for that long, so I ended up taking it to the dealer, and after $1200 they showed me the fuse panel that had corrosion on the fuses in the fuse panel, then it made sense what had happened. I talked to the previous owner and he bought the car new, and I believe him that the car had nothing wrong with it when he sold it to me, great guy just didn’t get that vibe from him, the reason that I didn’t have the tint shop pay for the repair is because it’s owned by a good a friend of mine and I didn’t want to make it a big deal, but in your case, I would 1st check the fuses for water, if you don’t find it, it’s going to be hard to prove it until you take it to the dealer and they tell you what it was caused by
, but I would inform the tint shop of what your plans are, **** happens and they need to understand in business you take losses sometimes..hopefully you get it sorted out. Also, not sure I would tell the dealer you think it’s water from the tint, it might give them a way out, if it’s a 2024, shoot for warranty coverage, but don’t volunteer information
