Fair to say those lads love the LC, even though the example they drove for filming was an early car which looked well worn inside! I do like the whole concept of the ReDriven channel - not just hyping the latest/greatest, but taking a look at cars a few years old, to tell you more about the ownership experience... They were also pretty enthusiastic about the RCF and GS F, as I recall.
What are they talking about re: brakes? Their claim that the car "does not stop" and are "not really safe" is absolute fabrication. I have tracked on the stock high-performance pads and they were 100% fine, and also done the braking exercises as part of LPDS in LCs with the high-performance pads. You would have no issue standing on the pedal during day-to-day or even canyon driving that 99.99% of owners are doing.

Pretty clear that these guys have never actually driven one of these cars, or even know very much about it... Perhaps explains why nobody seems to watch their videos - it's essentially the online equivalent of sitting at a bar, listening to some bozo rant on about something they don't really know much about...
@np20412
I have to agree with your comment and they are sadly spreading misinformation. If anything the LC 500 brakes are viewed as one of its many strengths.

Agreed. At the risk of bumping their video AT ALL in the algorithm I commented as such on it. That video smells like someone trying (miserably) to capitalize on perceived popularity of the LC (niche as it may be) for clicks. They have no idea what they're talking about, and it shows.
The LC's chassis is so solid that just about ANY reasonable brake setup would stop it just fine as it has minimal to no weight transfer when standing on the brakes in an emergency ABS scenario. It stops far better than the more performance-oriented RCF, in fact, at least in my real-world personal tests.

I have never driven an RCF, but I did own an ISF for over ten years. Both the RCF and the ISF use Brembo brand brakes, a performance brake specialist. The LC uses Advics-brand brakes that appear to be a copy of the Brembo caliper. I luvd the Brembos on my iSF, especially after I switched to Ferodo pads. My impression of the LC brakes is also very high. I have the standard Lexus HiPo pads, and they do an excellent job in fast, even stops with little fade and no noise. So far, I have not seen a reason to change the pads. When I do, it will be for Project MU.
