LC video thread
In this video, we dive into the history behind the Lexus LC 500, its connection to the legendary LFA, and why this car feels so important right now. From Yamaha-tuned engine notes to the story of Akio Toyoda pushing Lexus to stop building “boring” cars, the LC 500 feels like more than just a Grand Tourer. It feels like the last chapter of something special.
I also spend time actually living with the LC 500 Inspiration Series to see what it’s like day to day, how the V8 feels in 2026, and whether this Lexus really deserves the hype.

These darn hooligan tubers need to do better research. :shakes semi-old man fist at clouds:
(Would love a link to where Lexus is stating otherwise)
I LOVE my LC! Took my bro and my 9yr old niece out today to show it to them on some back roads. It's the first time I've seen her put her phone down and get off instagram. Not because she loved the car though. I looked back after a couple twistier turns and she had her head bowed and palms together saying a prayer for survival! 🙏
It's a good thing I never got the opportunity to take her out in my 2022 vette! LOL

material and that’s very likely what is utilized where genuine leather isn’t found. As Korbek mentioned it could be superior in terms of durability and low maintenance.

It isn't terrible...or low-budget.....but it's not leather.

PLANO, Texas (August 14, 2019) – A style icon since its introduction three years ago, the Lexus LC 500 adds another layer of sophistication this year with the introduction of the limited-edition 2020 Inspiration Series.
Blending the sensational lines of the LC 500 with a classic color palette, this new limited-production LC aims to evoke a more refined, mature coupe without giving up any of the modern performance, technology and style that makes it so desirable.
The transformation starts with its distinctive Nori Green Pearl paint, an exclusive Inspiration Series color for the LC. Subtle in its depth of color, yet eye catching at a glance, the distinctive shade of green complements every angle of the LC’s stunning design. A set of 21 -inch, two-tone wheels complete the look that elevates the LC’s style profile to another level.
The interior of the LC Inspiration Series is equally striking thanks to a two-tone color scheme that highlights the exceptional design and craftsmanship found in every LC. The 10-way power adjustable seats are trimmed in aniline leather, the softest, highest-grade leather available in the Lexus lineup. The rich Bespoke Saddle Tan color is unique to the Inspiration Series and is complemented by a slightly darker shade of Alcantara® trim on the door panels that adds a soft, inviting feel to the cabin.
In contrast with the tan seats, dark Black Amber leather trim is used on the steering wheel, dashboard, center console and doors. Brown stitching ties the darker leather trim together with the seats in addition to highlighting the fanatical precision of each stitch.

I would love to sit inside one of those 2020 Inspiration Series. It sounds like they went full-upscale!
Here is a link to an ad--it looks super classy on the inside: https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3vG...iration-series
But the dash in my 2021 and my 2026 is 100% not leather.

Yep!
The Nori Green exterior with that very beautiful Inspiration interior color scheme is one of the best the LC 500 has had. I’ve always believed that interior scheme should have been an ongoing option
Question: In acceptable upholstery furniture terms does " seats are trimmed in aniline leather" mean 100% leather all over or just selected parts?
Answer: "Seats are trimmed in aniline leather" usually means only the seat areas (the visible seating surfaces) are covered with aniline leather, not that the entire piece (frame, sides, back, underside) is 100% aniline leather. "Trimmed in" indicates selected parts have that material; other areas are often covered in different leather grades, split leather, or fabric."
Note I'm not claiming the seats aren't 100% leather all over. Just that the term "leather trim" by itself does not necessarily mean so and my have been used unknowingly in the script to describe seat construction which is actually 100% leather. What I do know is as a former furniture industry retailer is that it was used in selling most often to describe a chair, recliner, sofa, etc. that was leather "inside" and matching vinyl/synthetic "outside". This is an old forum/video controversy still not quite resolved in my mind. Article seems clear many non-seat parts are all-leather on this edition, which is news to me.
