This always happens in almost all the forums when changes are made for a refresh or redesign, everyone have their own preferences, and typically, many current owners will defend what they already have and prefer, that’s ok.
My own MY23 order is switched to a new MY24 not from my own volition, but overall I am glad I’m getting the refreshed model, and even with the new paint choices available, I am still sticking with Infra Red, and the new USB 2.0 available which many here are raving about did not move me, and they actually have an IS with that same paint in the showroom for me to look at again when I went to sign off for the MY switch(I made a change on a new wheel choice for the bespoke), I think the USB 2.0 will look good on the LC , but not Infra Red good, nor Atomic Silver or Flare Yellow good for that matter for me, so that’s my personal preference.

Yes, I am going to keep it as long as no major issues, and I have none other than 2 pre-emptive recalls, and it is still under @22000km and close to 6 years old.
Wasn’t the recently named president of Toyota (or Lexus) involved with the development of the lc? If so it could be the reason for the investment in new tech

Yes - Koji Sato - was chief on the development of the LC - who is now CEO of Toyota Motor Corp. Prior to being CEO of Toyota, he was CEO/Global leader of Lexus.
No mention of deleted CD player but I don't see it in the picture. I hope they kept it.
So the way I read this is that the Inspiration Series is now the Ultimate Edition.

Yes - they removed the CD player. No confirmation on the IS - the Ultimate Edition is what they announced for the European market. Some colors and model designations are named differently in other markets. We'll just have to wait and see what Lexus NA announces.
But this Ultimate Edition is a very similar situation with what happened with the 2021 IS. Prior to the announcement of the 2021 IS, they unveiled the LC500 Aviation, which was then named the Inspiration Series in the North American market.
