There are in depth reviews of the 2024 system on you tube.
Care to link your favorite? I've watched a lot of YouTube videos, but most do not go into the details of features that are entirely new on the 2024 (besides maybe the short-cut seat warmer/cooler hard button and the 360 degree camera).

I really like it. Besides the fact that the screen cant be turned off without going into the setup and display off which takes about 2-3 touches and a scroll. Even if you turn things on as simple as your seat seat or steering wheel, the screen comes on and doesnt know how to turn off on its own.
Thanks for the input! So far, I am weighing whether or not the uglier (in my opinion) dash is worth the new features. I think the old one is so much better looking.

You cant go wrong either way. 360cam is easily can be lived without. LKA and radar cruise control really dont get used often either. These two features are also standard on 23 and previous years. Just the 24 work better. Again, both can be lived without.
If you have located a 21-23 for a good price, dont let the 24 make you broke. For 20 and prior, make sure you test drive it and like the stiffer suspension. Theres a pretty noticeable change from 21 prior suspension. If you can live without the 360cam and the suspension, make sure you are okay with the 20 or prior lack of lower sensors on the front bumper. These added lower bumper sensors are crucial(IMO) in parking lots from 21 MY and later.
I too disliked the screen addition for the 24. If you use the Concierge feature, really no need to mess with seat/steering heat. Hot or cold, just adjust the temp control and everythings automatic. For CarPlay prior to 24, you'll want an add-on to make it wireless (unless you don't mind tethering, I'm using Ottocast). Still use the trackpad somewhat in CarPlay, but I'm very used to it. Also you'll want to add something on the underside of the front bumper area, I'm using Sliplo on mine but there are other things available.
Thanks for the all the great responses and info! I am feeling much more confident that I can live with an "older" LC now! I think I am really going to like it here...
Whoa. Hold on. As in most things, you always have to consider the source. Are you getting equal amounts of feedback from 24' owners and non-24' owners? I don't think so. I think you will end up with positive feedback for which ever year that person has. I just have to laugh when pre-24' owners say that the 24' is ugly, etc. The massive amount of improvements in FUNCTION of the 24' far outweighs a slightly different, but again, far more functional FORM. Are you buying the car to stare at a clock in the dash, or you know, drive it?
Someone said that you won't use cruise that much and the 24' has slightly better automated driving features. BS. I use cruise every time I drive the car. Also, look up the change over in the safety sense package on the 24' verse earlier. I have had them both and the 2.5+ in the 24' is MILES ahead of the previous. Previous pretty much not usable. 2.5+ in the 24' almost fantastic.
Someone said the cameras are not that big of a deal. Ha, that is not at all true. Frankly, the LC is relatively hard to maneuver in tight places, you know, like when you have to park it. Or put it in your garage. I find the cameras life saving as I would have curbed this car many times if I didn't have the cameras and the distance lines that they provide.
The idea that the 24's are going to depreciate faster because of the touchscreen as someone posted, is ridiculous. So much wrong with that assertion, that it is not even worthy to comment on.
The fact of the matter is, the 2024 is the better car. A number of things have been improved, like important things such as the suspension. . . Watch any reputable car show review of the 2024 and 100% of them all end up saying the same thing. . . "With the 2024, the car is now perfect." They also have all had negative things to say about the trackpad of pre-24. When Lexus fixed that, the car became "perfect." Some people really liked the wooden plow when the steel one came out. . . The wood one may have been more appealing to the eye, but. . . we all know the rest of the story.
Get which one you like aesthetically. I've never curbed my car yet (did you guys all forget how to drive before front/backup camera ? What did you do in the early 90s and 2000s?), nor do I care for the new or old infotainment. Both have their issues.
Get the best bang for the buck on the old one, or order and customize a brand new one. Either way you really cant lose.
Relative to any car I have had, parking the LC500 is harder because you cannot see the end of the side of the car, nor the end of the front of the car. Relatively speaking, and thankfully so, the long sloping hood, makes seeing where the actual end of the car is, can be a bit of a puckering moment in tight spaces. This is exacerbated if you are coming from driving mostly SUVs and trucks like I did. There is zero issue parking my Land Cruiser or Sequoia. That is because I can see the end of the sides and front of the car no problem.
However, most importantly, with SUVs you drive right up to curbs until the tires touch to park. It takes a while to re-learn parking in a low slung car like the LC when you have been parking by tires touching the curb for decades. Without damage, you cannot drive up to a curb until the tires touch in the LC500. In essence, if you are coming from SUV daily drivers like me, there is a steep learning curve, that could be cry inducing. Without the cameras, I guarantee it would have been an expensive lesson for me and I likely would never forgive myself for not being a good enough steward of this work of art and damaged it;-)
As soon as I hear ANYONE, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, blather on about the Original trackpad and how bad it sucks, I just turn that mindless TV show off like I have since the first week I owned my LC.
How much could I make I wonder if I opened up a driving school that Guarenteed to Teach you how to not drive a car up on a curb? A different color LC for every day of the week?
The LC is a Long Car?! ROTFLMAO. Yall would have augered a '74 Ford Grand Torino Battlestar in on the first day you drove it. Not a Battlestar but same time frame.

I'm of the opinion that the 360 camera is a huge upgrade and has absolutely helped me avoid scrapes and bumps. I certainly would have been happy pre-'24 refresh as well and no doubt adapted to the size of the car. That being said, the 360 camera is still a lifesaver!
My first experience with a panoramic (360) monitor was my wife's 2019 ES300h. I decided very quickly that my next car had to have one. So I didn't even consider the LC until the 2024 model year, which is what I now have. It makes parking infinitely easier - to the point where I mostly watch the screen instead of the actual surroundings.
The trackpad in my wife's car I could take or leave. I've gotten used to it so it doesn't bother me the way it does some people. My only beef is when my dog steps on the pad and messes things up on the screen! I do like the touchscreen in my LC.
I have mixed feelings about the actual infotainment system in her ES versus my LC. They've improved some things over the years, and backslid on others.
The trackpad experience for media reviewers not familiar at all with it were diametrically opposed to those of an Owner after a month with the pad.
Sadly, the incessant bleating of the reviewers was what was heard loudest in Japan.

Agree with the mixed feelings. The wife's new 24 RX; the drive mode is inside the touchscreen (used to be by the shifter). Now they have the Trail, Downhill, Traction and the Engine Auto start/stop buttons there (Auto start/stop I understand, the others should be in the touchscreen). First thing I do when driving the 18 RXL is put it in Sport mode (the V6 hesitates in traffic). They also removed button assignments on the Steering wheel. They are now displayed on the HUD, which requires multiple presses of the different buttons while cycling thru the HUD menus (to include cruise control). Oh, the engine (4 turbo) change is woefully underpowered, it is a good choice for our NX. But she is fine with it so thats what matters.
As my signature shows, we currently have 5 Lexuss and have the mouse, trackpads and touchscreens. I prefer one time programming thats set to the Fob (or whos phones connected) and tactile buttons conveniently located for the most common uses (cruise, drive mode, HVAC etc.).
Everyones different, the only requirement for me on the LC was HUD and they all seem to have it.

And if youre like me and still enjoy the sound of a CD from a crazy large collection, a beautifully designed dash on a 23 and earlier model will satisfy your music pleasure/enjoyment.
