Default 2007 IS250 - Car Chimes and unlocks door while turning

Hi,

I noticed that when I turn at a certain angle the car would flash some kind of warning and then chimes then unlocks the doors. Is it because of the unlevel ground or because I turn too abruptly? Has anyone experienced this phenomenon? I searched but did not find anything?

Thanks,

Never heard of this. At the time this is happening, is your left knee lodged against the left armrest for support? If so maybe there's something going on in the left armrest wiring where the lock button is and when your leg hits it during a turn it triggers something.

Just a thought, since I notice myself putting my knee there. But I can't think of anything that would cause this.

I've accidentally pressed my key fob in my pocket while exiting the car, and it throws me off why the cars "unlocking" itself. Not sure if it would do anything while driving, but maybe?

or you have one hell of a short, but I have not heard of this either. Also not part of the optional Pre Crash Collision System that I can find. the PCS is a pretty rare option for the IS anyway. If you have it, it could be acting funny.

AHH!! I'm not alone in this crap problem! I even posted a thread on this ages ago, but no one had a clue either.

It would happen when I'm in the car alone and when people are in the car. Do this test for me: have someone in the back seat lean on your doors while you're driving (doesn't even have to be going around a turn). This would definitely trigger for it to come on for me. The Lexus dealership "tightened" the door somehow, and it stopped for a while. But, after about a year, this problem has actually come back.

No, it's not because you're barreling around an incline or anything. I don't know exactly WHAT causes this. Sorry I don't have more of an explanation... because not even the Lexus tech could explain why it was doing what it was doing.

If you can replicate the problem, over and over again, take it to the Lexus dealership. And be ADAMANT about them fixing this. I was...

Good luck.

Yeah.. I am having the same problem. It was my driver rear door. I guess its out of adjustment??. If you open all your windows and go outside and pull on the doors alittle, see if they trigger the warning light and chime. I just adjusted my door striker and its been fine.

Thank you all for your replies. That's exactly what happened, only when I turn right, so it must be the driver side rear door.

How do you adjust your door striker?

Thanks,

Default Door

I had the same problem in my old Ford Truck. The dealer wanted to replace the door switches.

But I found if you just spray the latches down with WD-40. You can clean out the switches. And it will make better contact with the strikers. So that the chime and cabin light will stay out.

I’m experiencing this same issue, I’ve had so many issues with this car.
