Default Programming TPMS display in multi info

Hello all, recently I had a tire blow out and I wonder if it had to do something with the TPMS light that was on, but I attributed to the cold. But I just can’t understand how it lost that much pressure without me visually noticing but that’s a different topic for another day. It’s a long story if anyone wants it. Anyways to the main question. Is it possible to program the multi info display to show each individual tire pressure? Cars older than my MY11 have this feature but for some reason my originally 64k car doesn’t. So if anyone can enlighten me on weather this is possible or not, or if anyone has done it…please do!

Not possible with what Lexus provides us. You'd need an aftermarket tool to show you real time pressures. Techstream will do this, but it's not worth the subscription cost just to see tire pressures.

Exclamation Check your Tire PSI - monthly

Normally if the TPMS light comes on, before I hop on the road I take out my digital tire gauge to make sure there isn't something else going on..

If its weather related, all 4 tires will read the same.. But if you have a slow leak, nail or ONE damaged tire.. The gauge will help you identify the tire so you can air it up or maybe put on the spare.. This will prevent a blow out before going on the drive itself, doesn't matter if its streets or fwy.

The TPMS light did its job correctly - unfortunately it was ignored.. the light itself saved me a few times before my 5am drives..

Nobody likes a blowout at 5am at 75 mph..

I check and adjust mine monthly. I have a compressor in my garage and a Longacre digital gauge. Still wish I could see pressures real time as I do in the GS F. I did some poking around, and it doesn't appear anyone has put in the time to get the data off the CAN bus and into a tool (like the Torque Master app) where an owner can monitor these cars easily. Honestly, I've got too many other irons in the fire to be worried about this.

Can you customize the labels so it shows the position of the tire?

YES!
Typically when programmed ; ID1 through 4 should correspond in this order - FL, FR, RR, LR perspectively.
But I've seen that order get mixed up if a wheel rotation gets performed, new sensor programmed, etc.
So yeah you'll have to keep them in that position as labeled, since this older TPMS system doesn't update wheel positions like newer systems.

Which adapter are you using? Doesn't look like the Mongoose Pro BT is supported, it's not ELM327.

Do I need the cable if I know the codes ??

Also, will the PSI data just appear on the iPhone app wirelessly?

By codes I'm assuming you're saying each unique tire pressure sensor ID code that's 8 digits long. The 8 digit code is purely for programming to the TPMS module.
I'd have to pull up the FSM on Monday to get exact system operation but it's essentially a handshake every key cycle and I forget what the refresh rate is from the module to sensor monitoring. I want to say every 5-10 minutes in my "tire light" experience, PIDs might refresh much faster however.

As far as my PID screenshot, you'll just need a OBD Fusion compatible OBD2 dongle that's either wifi/Bluetooth. Like mentioned prior, you need to purchase the add-on for these features/PIDs.
I primarily use the app to monitor kclv, knock sum, temps, clearing/reading codes though.
It's a VERY good app IMO but limited by the age of the ISF development processor speeds.
Datalogging tends to duplicate PIDs under 100ms refresh rate.
(My car is currently torn down over winter, else I'd get better info for you)

Just to be clear - you can order the OBDLink MX+ adapter (mine showed up today - super quick shipping), and you get all access to OBDLink's app including the manufacturer specific PIDs. Unfortunately, there are no PIDs for TPMS on OBDLink's app for a 2008 Lexus IS F. Their documentation shows they support this, but the reality is, it's just not there when you download the Toyota/Lexus/Scion PIDs. Screen shows 0 PIDs supported under TPMS. That's a real pisser when you just spent over $100 on the adapter thinking you're getting the complete package, but you are not.

From what I understand, OBDLink and OBDFusion are the same developer, so it doesn't make sense one would work and the other not work, but in the ScanTool forums, members say PIDs can change MY to MY or even with engine options in the same MY. That sort of makes sense, but I'm still a lot less than happy. It was nice to see KCLV at 24.8 though.

@lobuxracer proved out that the OBDLink MX+ does NOT have the PID's for MY2008, but @viprez586 what MY worked for you?

I've gone the aftermarket route and installed this several years ago and is still working great until today: https://www.orange-electronic.com/en...420a+.html#top

Displays Tyre pressue and temp all the time. It has helped me out once when one of my tires got slashed while driving on the motorway. Was a real life saver as the alaram rang well before I realised I was loosing pressure.
