Default Tire clearance

Need help with this. I am planning on running 255/35/19 on a 9" ET45 rim in the front. Just threw on winter tires in size 245/35/19 and there's barely 1/4" clearance on the suspension side (see attached). I read some ppl run 255/35/19 on OEM rims (ET45) but how in God's name is that possible? I measured the 255 is about 3/4" wider than a 245. Am I missing something here?

^try undoing suspension bolts after a few of those winters. Not gonna happen. I know they're not ferraris or lambos but still.

Yea, my ISF has never seen slush, brine, or snow. It did not even see rain for around 8 months after visiting tail of the dragon last year. lol.

If I'm correct, the GSF fronts have a ET50 so that puts them even closer to the inboard side by 5mm. I added the missed attachment to my OP. What model tire are you running?

Nokian Hakkapelittas and they don't touch, although close they don't touch. I don't know what the offset of the GSF wheels is.

FWIW I put them on for storage as I don't drive it in the winter, but on occasion need to get it out of the garage, and due to a small incline the Michelins don't grip when cold and icy so I can't get it back in the garage. Poor use of such a nice set up but it is what it is. I think I have less than 75 meters on the wheels and tires. LOL

The one I took the picture of is the OEM 8" wheel. I am planning to get 9" ET45 custom wheels from Forgeline.

Ok thanks. Yeah I hear ya about the summer tires on ice. My MPS4S would spin at a standstill even without touching the gas, lol. It's a no go.

I have the late model 8.5" front rims with a 45mm offset running MPS PS4S in 255/35/19 with zero rubbing issues. I'd take a picture, but they're resting while the temperatures are dropping. I hate tire chatter on U-turns under 45F so I run A/S3+ when it's colder here.
