Default Porsche Performance Drive

SO I finally got the chance to drive my first Porsche. My ISF is an 08, so yea ofcourse driving a 2020 Porsche is a big difference.

After going to 2 Lexus drive events, I decided to register for some other cars I wanted to drive. I think I signed up this porsche newsletter a few years ago. I finally got a invite

It was down at the Homestead speedway. It was truly something special.

911 is my dream car so getting the chance to drive one was a dream come into fruition!

THey allowed us to drive a few different cars. 911, taycan, panamera, macan and cayenne.
I drove the 911 and the taycan. My sister drove the panamera and the two SUV's. THe suv stuff was offroad.

First we did lead follow in the taycan. I think it was the taycan turbo. 0-60 in 3.0. THis was my first electric car. Boy that torque is instant. I think I got up to 130 on the track. Only thing I do not like about electric cars is the lack of a gearbox and engine noise/exhaust notes. Other than that, this car was a fun drive. I I was right behind the lead car so I kept up with him pretty good. Esspecially on the second lap after getting to know the track a little.

Next was the panamera. My sister wanted to drive. SHe chose to be the 3rd car, and it was a good choice. THe lead car had to slow the pack down for her to catch up.
Riding with her was underwhelming ofcourse.

Next was the 911 carrera. Im in love. I was in the last car. THe car behind the lead car was driving like my sister. Me and the car in front could not push it like we wanted to...but it was still fun.
The track was wet but I could not tell. THis car stuck to the track like it was dry.
We got 3 laps as compared to 2 in the other cars. First lap I was drving in auto, second lap I started using the paddles. Big difference.

Overall this was excellent. They gave us 100 gift cards to hugo boss, a coffe mug and a video of us in the 911. See video attached

What a fantastic experience, Thank you for sharing. I feel exactly like you do when it relates to anything Porsche, I love my ISF as well.... a new 911 is most definitely a "Dream Car" .

Yup.

I have been looking at used GT3's and Turbos.

If you dont care about Pedigree the '17-19 base 911 are great and turbo powered for easy aftermarket gains.

Congrats. Looks like fun.

I got a day at the Porsche Experience here in Atlanta for my birthday from my wife. I drove a Carrera 4S, and had a total blast. They have a kick plate, skid pad, slalom/braking, and test track around the whole thing. The most fun for me was getting the car sideways around the skid pad. They wet it down so the car will slide pretty easily on polished concrete, and you can literally dirt track all the way around the circle. More fun than lots of driving schools I've attended by a considerable margin.

Nice, I might have to take a trip to ATL just for that.
