All that said, there is visual performance and mechanical performance. Lots of people on this forum are interested in visual performance and they modify their cars appropriately. Some of us are interested in mechanical performance without regard for appearance as long as it makes the car faster around a timed course. These two objectives are almost never coincident.

I just wish the mechanical performance wasn’t so expensive 🤣.

If done right, you can solve the OEM choppy ride which was somewhat unforgiving many times on the 2008 suspension.

Dialing in a more acceptable visual height, along with solving a more comfortable and compliant ride quality was my goal achieved with Coilovers.

Unfortunately track duty is not in my playing cards these days.. Maybe again in 10 - 20 years.

I had the same methodology for picking the right aftermarket brake pads & tires

Installed Bilstein B6 dampers into my 09 IS F...much (100%) better ride now, highly recommend. Special order took a while to receive. Get new rubber insulators for lower springs OEM.
Ride height unchanged roughly 15" center of wheel to fender lip front.

Soon after my coilover installation I've had cars flashing their headlight at me at night time and one car pulling over indicating my headlights are blinding him. I've just checked and discovered my auto headlight leveling is no longer working.
Is it possible my coilover installer did something that has affected this?

Can someone point me in the right direction. TIA

Its probably an indication that it is working? its just trying to adjust to the new height setting?

this is a concern for me too since i have an 09.

Here are the RR Penske coilovers. Front is at max ride height. Rears are able to go higher or lower but the fronts on mine are as high up as they can go.

So no one has had this issue before? I've tried searching but no definitive answers.
My car's back in the shop and having the front raised 10mm to have it as close to OEM height differences front to back.
So overall it should be an even 20mm lower front and back than stock. Also having it corner weight balanced.

I hope the raising of the front fixes my head light leveling issue.

Has anyone else encountered this issue with a fix?

Lots of people had this issue a long time ago starting in '06 with the 2IS release. The rear height sensor is incorrectly installed.

This thread has pics and a diagram of what it should look like while at normal ride height (whatever you choose it to be).

Thanks for reaching out. Front coilovers now raised 10mm, so car should be similar to oem balance front to back.

I've read through it all, everything seems to be ok on my car including position of sensor arm, l even adjusted the nut slightly up to try bring down RHD side beam but no luck at all.

l have no messages on on dash, headlight leveling system not working at all, it doesn't go up and down like it used to. There must be something else going on.

Would you have any idea what it might be?

EDIT; Ive resorted to manual adjust headlight beams as everything else failed to rectify my auto leveling system.

Looks pretty low for max height. What size are your front tires?

I wonder how much suspension travel these have.

Front is 255/35/19
Rear is 285/30/19
I can’t go any higher in the front plus to compensate for the uneven ride I had to mess around with the front to get it some what even. Rears are even left to right.

Just like to report after manually adjusting the beam height my auto leveling has returned.
