Default How to Remove Toms Diffuser

My car came with a Toms Kit, and I’m removing it. I have no knowledge as to how the diffuser is held on. Any tips for removal without damaging it?

As far as I’m aware it’s double sided tape so use some heat when removing it. Take your time.

Double sided tape, maybe some tapping screws and/or clips on the underside. Plastic trim tools with heat is your friend. Or goo-gone as an alternative to heat.

I just put mine on about a month ago. Double sided tape and a few screws on the bottom.

Which diffuser did you get? I like the Toms stuff, but the side skirts really make jacking the car up a massive pain. They also appear to be more “show” than “go”, but they look nice.

I did Tom's, got it used several weeks ago. I only have the diffuser though.

Is there a special tool for removing these, or do you just push them inward in the center and then pull them out? Some of them don’t want to push inward in the center.

Looks like they used gasket maker to hold the diffuser on. I guess that’s one way of doing it.

They're supposed to push in to release, but they don't always work nicely. That's why I bought a bag of 100 of them. I toss them if I don't like their behavior. That and they break if you look at them cross eyed.

I broke roughly 50% of them. Do you know the name so I can buy a similar bag? Thanks!

Are you going to be selling the rear diffuser once you get it off?

The diffuser and side skirts have a local buyer lined up.
