I remember jacking it up when I re-installed the KEIN mount, so after removal of OEM.

Thanks for the follow up DMV8!
To confirm, I would remove the aluminum brace (four 14 mm nuts & four 12 mm nuts), then the the four 12 mm bolts attaching the trans mount to the transmission, without concerns of transmission coming down. The jack is only used to lift transmission to asset with installing the new trans mount. Is that correct?,

Understood, thank you again JDMV8!
was concerned that nothing would be supporting the transmission and may drop down, once the aluminum brace and existing transmission mount were removed. Hopefully installation of the new mount wont need the assistance of a jack!!

The procedure you outlined is sound.
lobuxracer, Is the brace located under a body panel I may have overlooked?

Thank you lobuxracer. Is it located directly beneath the aluminum brace as seen in photo?

Want to again follow up and obtain clarification of removal / install process (DYI, before having the trans mount installed at a service center.

At what point is a jack needed to support / lift the transmission itself when installing new mount, and where is it recommended to place the jack along the transmission?

Reason for changing the mount in addition to routine maintenance, I've been experiencing a "surge" when coming to a stop. When approaching a stop sign and begin to slowly stop (from 30 mph), before coming to a complete stop, I feel a "surge forward", (feels from underneath front seat region) before the complete stop, and thought perhaps issue may be the transmission mount failing allowing the transmission to shift.

Follow up to confirm when bracket that the trans mount is fasten is removed, is the transmission free and can possibly come down and jack is needed to support the transmission itself OR, the jack is only needed to push up on the transmission when installing the new trans mount to allow for additional room for installing the new trans mount?

Any additional information is appreciated.

It wouldn't be good to let the transmission hang on the car. Lots of unintended consequences and stress to parts not designed to support the engine and transmission on just two front mounts.

Not correct. Support the transmission with a jack or jackstand like in the picture below where the jackstand is under the bell housing. Remove the bolts and the mount with the transmission still supported. Replace the mounts, torque all nuts and bolts to spec. Drop the jack after all bolts are fully tightened.

Thank you Lobuxracer! I appreciate you taking the time and providing the correct procedure and photo! So, jack stand is supporting the transmission when the aluminum bracket is removed with the trans mount still attached to the bracket, then unbolt the existing mount from bracket, install the new mount and bolt the assembly back into place. Then the jack stand supporting the transmission can then be removed. I assume the removal the installation can be performed using ramps as well however, use of jack stands may allow more room.
