Default Lexus ISF door latch

Hi

I am owner of a Lexus ISF few months back I had nasty accident which damaged my offside rear door I found replacement from another Lexus ISF a full door console except for the window and interior console so I had mechanic come out yesterday to my home to fit the door on as the Lexus is currently SORN ( statutory off road notice ) he fitted the door and left he couldn't not start it as the battery was completely flat he advice me the back door was not closing due to central locking active

I have received the battery today and installed it myself I've tried to close the door open and closing the central locking but nothing seems to work the door looks like it's locked and does not open even with activating or deactivating the central locks

I'm completely clueless as to why the door does not close could I please pick your brains as to why this is occurring

The mechanic will be returning back to check the fault although he didn't seems pleased

Kind regards

Sounds like it could be the door lock actuator. I had one fail on my ISF and replaced the whole assembly. Otherwise the interior Handel can activate the lock. So he should have been able to activate the lock with a dead battery.

How much did the acuator cost ? Is it the same as Lexus is models as the door I have was from is I thought. It could be to do with lineing the door so I've been fighting with but no luck at certin point the door does not fully sit on the lock it's really wired

You should be able to easily operate the latch with the door open to test it.

The latch i got a steal on amazon for $40. I think they are significantly more at the dealership.

I just ordered a set of Tungsten Pearl too. Have been hitting park cars a couple of times last week.
