Default VLand headlights - projector LED

Hi,

These came out a couple of months ago I believe and I don't think many people jumped on them as I had a hard time finding pictures and such of them on the car.

The ones I bought: https://www.vland-carlamp.com/Full_L..._19287711.aspx

In any case, this is for those who are/were considering them.

I originally wanted to just leave my headlights stock as I did not like how Lexus did the 2IS LED checkmarks. I did not like the individual bulb look as I felt it made the car look more dated than without them... until my passenger side started filling up with water. I could've just attempted to fix it and replace the ballast but I figured might as well try these new VLand ones out.

Fitment was about 8.5/10 but I was also in a hurry so I am sure it could be better after playing with the bumper fitment a bit.

Install was easy, straight plug and play. The only annoying part is taking off the bumper honestly.

Now that I have these installed, I am considering getting the 3IS-look tails also. I don't like how the brake lights look, and again with the individual bulbs throughout the bars but those seem to be the best bet.

^^^Thanks for this. I ordered a set also and I already have the VLAND tails. Honeslty I'm not a huge fan of the Lexus Nike swoosh, but overall these headlights look nice! How do you find the brightness and night driving ?

No worries, I'm not a huge fan either. I knew about them and never really wanted them. But I had issues with my OEM lamps so figured this was the lesser evil of the other options (imo at least)

Brightness is adequate. Definitely need to adjust the height (aimed very low atm). I live in the suburbs so there are definitely some darker roads but I found this more than enough. Obviously it could be brighter but that's really over kill.

I forgot to mention the sequential signals are pretty... well pretty lol

Looks awesome. How is the light output vs. your OEM units?
Did you have stock HIDs before?

I'm in the same place as you were. Headlights needs replaced. I do like the 2012+ OEM, but that junk is $2000 new or $1000 for some knockoff OEM or otherishs. I don't think these lights are terrible and IMO the only way to really complain about the looks is because we all know what they are "supposed" to look like. Thanks again, not many pics posted considering all the talk.

Yeah, sorry for the lack of photos! I will take more shots later to demonstrate the fitment, signals, light output, etc.

The picture comment wasn't directed at you at all... I was seeing lots of talk on the 2IS forum, but very few posts.

Thanks for clearing that up! However, I still want to provide more detailed shots as my initial intention was to help provide fellow 2IS owners more information on them.

I'm curious how the light output is on these. I'm going to assume for the price they are probably not up to par. Maybe someone can do a ground light comparison with the LED next to the HID of the factory headlights.

I'll try to get a comparison done. I should've done that when installing them. Unfortunately I was tight on time and I wasn't planning on installing them until spring.

I'll get more comparison shots when I get around to adjusting the bumper.

But for now, irc all I can say is that I feel they're not much less bright than the OEM hid projectors... or perhaps I have not yet encountered a situation where I thought "I wish these were brighter"

Thanks for posting jwhy, I was JUST looking at headlamps for my 08 and didn't want to go the route of the 2012+ (mainly cause of dealing with annoying AFS light delete). I had my eye on these buy ended up just gettin a set of TYC OEMs.

Dont you just pull a fuse under the dash to turn light off no longer the procedure.?

Didn't see these, thanks! That second thread is especially useful.

It seems they worked out a lot of the packaging kinks after the initial batch.

Yeah, they even provide a photo of which fuse to pull. Super easy.
