So with all my mods decided to put car on scales. I know stock weight is around 3780 ish. I weighed in full tank with about 20 lbs of misc in trunk gym bag etc at 3640. So I’m about 150 lbs down from stock. I have the half cage which is mild steel so I’m putting it at 80 lbs or so.
Not to bad the M3 GTS is 150lbs lighter then stock it too has a roll bar factory. Now they deleted the air con stereo and used plastic rear glass sides and rear.
Carbon Roof (sunroof delete)

Recaro Front Seats
RR Racing Lithium Battery.
Gutted Trunk

Im guessing the Mild Steel Roll bar adding back 80-100 lbs. it has lots of xbracing and steel plates welded to floor for mounting to chassis. Rear wing maybe 15-20.
I sourced a non nav radio so will see if that can be swapped. Then maybe AC delete. Lol
Interested to hear how you get on with the non-navigation swap. I’m looking to go with a Motec standalone ECU shortly, and will be able to get all my gauge readings on a toucan display screen, so can lose the Defi’s and get my central air vents back.
Thing is where to mount the toucan display..... I’m thinking of losing the navigation/screen (my phone is better anyway!), and building a mount to hold the toucan there instead.

Hey GB what delete gave you biggest Weight savings. Also you didn't include rims and tires. Your build is by far my Favorite ISF ever done on CL and I've been members for over 9 yrs and ISF ower coming up on 8yrs. A true purpose built car any plans for big HP or continue your weight reduction quest. It amazing with out roll bar with 1/4 tank of gas your nearly 300 pounds lighter!🤯
On the track you must get a lot of priceless looks something along lines of 🤬 or 😤 as your passing some more much lighter smaller two door sport cars lol. Keep up good work.

Thanks Im trying to walk the line between street/ track with the M3 GTS being the target-bench mark, I want to keep it NA for reliability. Im beating the target they are down 165 lbs Im down 180lbs lol
The M3 GTS They removed stuff. There are no rear seats, the center console and the door trim have shed a few pounds, and even air conditioning is optional. The back window and the rear side glass have been replaced with polycarbonate (the front windows and the windshield remain glass). The M3's audio system was discarded, and so was a lot of sound insulation. The only music comes from the ultralight titanium exhaust system. Weight loss is less than what we had expected—just over 100 pounds. Considering that’s partly because the standard roll bar and the fire extinguisher eat up some of the savings, though, we’re okay with it. Although three-point seatbelts come installed in the car, six-point harnesses are included as well.
Get a non-motorized steering column from a non-motorized IS250 and replace the heavy pig of a motorized steering column we have. The first time I weighed my car, it was really obvious the driver's side is heavier than the passenger's side. Taking weight from the steering column will set part of that problem right.
I've always wondered if the 3,780lbs stat is when the car is "wet" or "dry". If it's dry then GB may have saved even more weight if his car weighs only 3,640 with a full tank.
What’s the part number? They had a nonpower steering option?
The steering column is manually adjustable for distance and height instead of having motors to move it. All the IS F models came with it standard, but a stripped 2IS model did not. It's pretty heavy. Base model part number is 45250-53030. The motorized version is 45250-53060.

It's wet, full tank. Mine weighed significantly less with 1/4 tank of fuel when I weighed it at Roebling Road.

Do you know if this retrofit has ever been done? I know the parts would swap over directly, but just curious if it would cause any issues with the seat/mirror/steering memory function. It's been a while since I ran through the Techstream options...was there an option to disable the memory function of the motorized steering column?
