Default Smoke and Oil Loss

There was a point I did a lot of upgrades and then Oil loss and black -> grey smoke started to be very apparent out of the exhaust only on WOT - high rpm and generally on the throttle release.

This was heavily apparent after I had PPE headers installed.

Then because the fuel smell was harsh I installed GESI Cats

Some of the smell seattled but I still could not drive with my windows down without my clothes smelling like exhaust fumes.

Then I was unsure if I was running heavily rich so I decided to go with the RR Racing tune + Larger intake box.

Seemed like I felt the power increase but the smoke on wot / release @ high rpm did not disappear. It is a huge puff of smoke behind me - covers my back of my car apparently is what other friends told me.

I constantly checked my oil separator to ensure it is not full or what not.

Not sure if it is in my head but feels at high rpm there is just a constant decline of power.

There is no white or dark smoke at idle or normal cruising.

Since these upgrades I must have driven 20,000 miles?

Losing about a quart every 1000 miles.

Intake Valves, Rings? other suspicious things? - should I do a leak down test?

Before all these upgrades I did have "some" oil loss but maybe over 4-5k - it would be 1-2 quarts

Not sure how many miles you have on your F, but I would look into your valve cover. I more recently started noticing higher oil consumption but around 1qt every 2-3k and also occasional small amounts of smoke on WOT. Mechanic took a look last time he changed the plugs and said for sure i have a small leak. So i gotta take care of that soon :/

Maybe exhaust back pressure is upset? Checked PCV?(ever replaced it?)

Two mechanics checked for leaks. No drips. No signs of any leaks.

seems like its burning or firing straight out the exhaust at high rpm

Currently at 215 k miles

Get a compression and leak down test done. Maybe try a BG EPR oil treatment when you do your next oil change.

I changed the plugs recently too. As other pictures showed on the forum it did have some residue on the threaded part

BG EPR worked wonders on my IS350. If the cause is sticking rings or a few other things, it'll be the best $15 you ever spent. This coming from a registered/professional mechanical engineer who is VERY leery of snake oil...
