Running ZITO ZF01 18x10 et42 with 285/35/18 Sumitomo's.
I should probably run an et40 or et38 since under hard cornering the inside of the tire hits the inner wheel well. It could be remedied with stiffer springs up front / larger sway bar but still trying to figure out what the best solution is. I'll likely be running Micheling P4S's int the same size next.
I don't know what kind of alignment I'm running right now but from the looks of it probably north of -2 degrees.

Sorry to revive this older thread, but I'm having a hard time finding out what will and won't clear the calipers. Will +40 all around clear? Or do you need at least +45 to clear all 4 calipers?

Please be aware that brake clearance isn't 100% black and white based on offset. The design of the wheel plays a role. Some wheel models/styles/designs may clear at one offset while others may not clear at that same offset. People here may be able to give you some guidance on what works for their specific wheel model but just wanted you to be aware that it will likely get you close but may or may not directly translate to complete clearance for other wheel models/styles/designs.

+1 to what WillAP1 says; would help to tell us what wheel brand and specs you're considering and maybe someone that has it can weigh in.

For reference, I'm running 18x9.5 +40 Volk TE37RT and they clear the stock calipers fine.

I think your understanding of offset is not accurate. A 40 mm will have more clearance, not less. 45 mm will sit further in. 40 mm will set further out.

I run 18x9.5 et 45 TE37 Sagas. Plenty of clearance at 45 mm.

Thanks for the help guys. Really just thinking about it for future reference, but the dream wheels would be TE37SLs, so I'll have to check out your car Jwconeil haha

I also have 18 x 9.5 +45 TE Sagas, running standard height/camber. I want to run 285/35's square Mich pilot s/sports,anyone done this yet? I know a 285/30 is OK but want the taller wall for grip & ride, main reason(apart from less understeer) I got the 18". I dont want odd sized F&R hoops.
Appreciate it if anyone lets me know?

Let us know if it works. You may have inner tire clearance issues.

Will do, circumference is still less than a stock tyre. I've grabbed a couple of part worns to trial on the front, also some 3mm spacers if req'd. What are you running rubber wise, 275/35?

You will likely need a small spacer up front.

This is the clearance is have on my 18x9.5 +45 setup. I am running 275/35 and it somehow does not rub. I think any wider at same offset and you will hit the control arm.

285/35/19 drag radials in the rear and 265/40/18 in the front.

I plan to switch to 275/35 or 265/40 square next season. Depending on your goals, you can probably accomplish them with a 275. There is a good selection of performance tires in that size.

Cheers guys, its 8.3mm clearance on the control arm, so its tight but I know 285/30s are run without spacer by other owners & a 35 makes no difference to clearance. As we know, manufacturers vary in size slightly so it's a suck it and see. I'll report the findings.

Dude,
car looks great, as I've said before but I don't know how you're getting away running a 40, I trialled the 45 and that's 19mm further out than stock! With a big tyre that's gonna be on the limit. You could stretch a smaller, lower tyre on I suppose but thats form over function(never got that) & going backwards in performance. Not sure what you're running.

i think alot of it has to do with the sidewall of the tire you plan to run.

i plan to run enkei rs05rr 18 x 9.5 +35 w/ 275/35 michelin ps4 (squared set up).

an isf owner (that runs that setup except with nexen tires) said it works fine with a minor fender roll in the rear at stock height. I plan to eventually get coilovers but will keep the rear height the same and lower the front 0.5 - 1 inch.

photo of his set up.
