It's hard to say goodbye guys 😧
So, this happened because some guy decided to pull out in front of me and I didn’t have time to respond. The initial insurance appraisal was $16k, but after I had the body shop look at it, the estimate was $32k to repair it. Although the picture doesn’t look all that bad, the increased cost was because the driver side frame rail was crushed from the impact and it was dreamed a total loss. 😭
I really loved the car, but I struggled to find another ISF with low mileage. I spent a couple of weeks looking and test driving cars. My time was limited to find a replacement and ended up with a ‘18 Camaro SS 1LE as my DD. Absolutely LOVE it. 😍
Thanks for all the help, CL has been a valuable resource. I’ll pop in once in a while.

Sorry you had to go through the accident. My previous F was totaled as well. I was rear ended on the interstate. I will say one thing, these cars make me feel incredibly safe. Much like your accident, the initial estimate was doable, but when a closer inspection was made, the cars were considered a total loss. The F didn't just completely buckle like the Ford Edge that hit me did.
Be safe out there and enjoy the new wheels!

Wow, really surprised that the frame rail was crushed. Never would have guessed that just from looking at the pictures. I am guessing the primary point of impact was right at the connection where the frame rail meets the front bumper causing the frame rail to absorb all of the energy from the hit. I suspect if the impact was anywhere else on the bumper or distributed more along the bumper the impact energy would have been absorbed by more body panels and the car probably could have been repaired.
So sad, one less ISF on the road (and a '11 no less).

That is surprising. The frame rail on these cars is pretty far back and much of the front end is bolted on and can just be taken off and replaced. Looks like a good parts car now since you kept it so well. Engine and tranny will be fine.

I was bummed that it happened. The car is destined to be a parts donor unless someone tries to salvage it.
Anyways, thanks for the kind words.

Glad you're ok though. Chevy Camaro SSisn't a bad choice. Ran against one from a 20 roll to 110 and pretty much dead even. Strong motors.
Good luck!
