i think there's only been 1 blown one to date, and that's because they took the rev limiter to 8k ....

its bullet proof as long as you do your scheduled maintenance, there was one recently sold with 300K miles ...

Like gravesg^^^^^^^said above one was just recently sold with 333k miles on it and the engine runs fine!

Engines are bullet proof as long as your not trying to feed it a 200 shot of NOS

100k isn't anything to wory about

Extremely reliable. If you look at their displacement vs. horsepower you'll see the motor is extremely undertuned. European cars are typically a 1:1 ratio for Litre to HP. By that idea the ISF should be at 500 instead of 416. The motor is made to last for sure.

I'm wondering the same. especially with higher miles and unknown prior owner abuse. carafe can only tell so much.

does any one know if the ifs v8 is the same as the SC convertible V8. or noticeable differences in internals/ build? just a thought i had.

The engine itself is reliable... as far as the components, that is another thing
On older models the water pump has issues. on all models you have the valley plate and various oil leaks as well as the cracking exhaust manifold issue.

compared to other high performance vehicles out there, I would say this motor is pretty reliable for the power it is making/can make
