Default Fuel Panic in SA

In San Antonio people are panicking at the pump which has caused some stations to be out of fuel or only have regular at the pump. My F has 1/2 of tank left which we plan to fill it up on Thursday. So if we only find regular gas, what is the impact to the car. Can I add a fuel additive to help?

If you know anyone that is a member see if they'll be ok getting you a costco cash card, I think you can use them to get gas without a membership card. Aside from that some octane booster may help, but mainly you'll want to be a lot less aggressive on the gas to try to prevent knock.

Depends on which one you are closer to. I10 or the one in Selma on 35. Premium was $2.40 there a couple days ago.

We had a similar situation in Austin last week, but seems to have calmed down by Monday. I suppose that everyone is sitting on a full tank now.....whether they needed it or not! I drove (almost on fumes) about 20 miles North to Liberty Hill to get Premium on Saturday evening.....even though I am sure that a tank of regular or mid-grade isn't going to break the F.

Regular fuel won't hurt the F. Timing will be retarded and power will be limited (probably un-noticeably unless you drive aggressively or track), but no damage long-term.

thank you everyone. I drove the F to work and during lunch headed over to Castroville for gas which they had a Chevron station with premium fuel available. All good now, woohoo!

GraveSG. Thank you for the offer on the card.

EliteSC430, glad to hear your car is running again. If you need any other help send me a text 2108334674. I am normally free on Sunday mornings if I am not playing golf.
