Default Cel p0174 p1170

Looking for some advice. I have already read through all of the threads concerning these codes on this forum as well as the 2IS forum to check the basics.

Background - 2014 with 15k miles on it. Borla catback installed ~August of last year. RR Racing carbon intake tube installed October of last year. Have put over 1000 miles on vehicle since then. Yesterday the CEL and trac lights popped on while sitting at a red light. Found P0174 and P1170, 2 hits of each. Cleared the codes to see if they would return. CEL came back on after around 15-20 minutes of driving (again at a stop light or pulling away from one). Same two codes with an addition - P0171. I've read through to check the obvious, checked for any loose or disconnected vacuum lines, checked all of the clamps and joints in the intake system and found no signs of a leak anywhere. Pulled MAF sensor and see 0 signs of contamination. It does have a K&N drop in filter that was there prior to me purchasing the vehicle, unsure of how many miles. Nothing changed between October and now that I can see to trigger these codes. Unfortunately I do not currently have a way to monitor the long term fuel trims. Any other advice? The car is under warranty but the nearest dealership is 1.5-2hrs away and I don't want to waste the time and gas if it is something simple. Any common things to watch out for with the intake elbow? Again I checked all of the joints and could not see any evidence of anything that could cause a leak. With only 15k miles on the car it is hard to think that a sensor (MAF or upstream O2) would have gone bad. Thanks in advance!

If it was me, i would drive the car 2 hrs to have Lexus fix it since it's under warranty or perhaps call Lexus to see if they are willing to have the vehicle towed to them at their cost? If the Lexus is your only ride, they should provide you a free rental until it's fixed.

It's not my only ride, but they do always provide loaners. That was the next question is if it is even realistic to drive that distance, not knowing why it is throwing lean codes. It seems to run just fine.

I would recommend you have a quick peek at the secondary o2 sensors and make sure the wires aren't twisted. It could be as simple as that if those are o2 codes.

The codes are not related to the downstream O2 sensors. Could be related to the upstream O2 sensors (A/F sensor) but being that both banks ended up logging a code it points towards the intake system/MAF sensor.

Sure you don't have a leak in the exhaust where the header meets the midpipe?

Yep, no exhaust leaks. That is also downstream of the A/F sensors so should not be able to affect the long term fuel trims that drastically (could be wrong).

Yeah did that as well. That should cause a rich fuel trim anyway due to the lack of air flow. Thought about getting an OEM paper filter, although I have never had an issue with K&N filters.

I have the same problem which happened before yesterday after installing ppe headers.
Iv checked the Maf sensor and cleaned it. No use.
I took it back to the shop and he is saying it is the injectors which i need to change !!thats costly !!

I will book with a workshop for cleaning injectors , maybe it will help ?

Mostly ppl say its maf and exhaust leak !!

You wouldn't get bad injectors by adding a set of extractors and if your shop removes the injectors 16 of them it is a big job. the only true way to clean injectors is remove and clean by a specialist not adding snake oil in the tank
