the process is simple and painless. VERY HIGHLY recommend you connect a battery charger during flash . Battery drains super quick. (Rr recommends this from the get go, I believe them now that I've done it. I'm glad I followed the advice)

Just out of interest, why would the battery drain quickly? The capacity of a car battery is enormous...
(I can understand why you'd not want the battery to go flat during the re-flash)

How long does it take?
not to long , it's all about being safe and not having the car die midflasf. I watched the voltmeter visually move down. You can't kill the nav system and is was at night so I had the interior lights on but that's about it. I had a starting malfunction while back , the engine immobilizer was tripping when I reinstalled my stock ECU . It was easily reset using the OBDII jumper technique but the car batt was extremely weak afterwards.
Before this I had made four start attempts the battery wouldn't crank anymore so, I had to fully charge it and leave it on during the obd reset.
