someone said i should try reprogramming a computer chip to get more power out of the engine. i found a compant (jet) that does it for $299. but i would have to send mine in so i wouldn't be able to drive my car. has anyone done this . what are the pros&cons thanks ivan
You may search "ECU" for more information. I believe Jet locates at Pomona, California. And the way they modify your stock ECU is according to what modification you have had on your car. You would need to fill out a list say you have aftermarket exhaust and send it back along with your stock computer. As you may guess, it is not very accurate. They basically "guess" an optimal performance because the whole ECU tuning is not done over Dynojet.
I would rather buy some piggy-back ECU. (1) freedom: You can tune it whatever you like (2) resale value: You can sell the piggy-back once you sell your car. A simple S-AFC can be used on many import vehicles. You cannot sell your Jet-tuned ECU unless you get another one.
