Default ECU Tune for ISF

Has anyone used the RR racing OBD device tune for Lexus IS-F ECU? And has anyone toggled back and forth between factory settings and the tune? Let me know your experience.

Thanks

Also I would like to know if heatsoak affects the ECU Tune. Will you lose power with excessive heatsoak on the tune?

I haven't toggled back and forth between the stock and tuned ECU settings. Just installed the tuned ECU settings. LMK if you have any question in regards to uploading the tune. Pretty straight forward instructions from RRRacing.

What's the reasoning between switching from tune to factory and back? If it's just for servicing at the dealer there's no point they won't know. Most of us don't have the luxury of being able to go back to stock without doing some other supporting mods since we have headers/tuned intake ect. I've flashed from stock>TTFS>RR tune and different tunes in between without issue.

heatsoak is heatsoak. its going to affect the car tune or not.

Just curious. Which tune did you find better in performance? TTFS or RRacing? I am really enjoying the RRracing tune. I agree too that the dealer most likely won't know if the ECU settings were changed.

I've posted quite a bit of stuff with the tunes previously if you wanna dig thru the searches. TTFS is pretty much non existent in the Lexus community now so that should be good indicator which was more successful.

If you have the RR-racing tuned intake system, you can't go back to the OEM tune unless you remove the entire intake system and reinstall the OEM one...which can be a small pain in the a$$.

Here is another link I used to get the OBD device and installed it remotely. It does redline at 7200 rpm. It is pretty straight forward.

RR Racing's tune is great. The 7200/7400 rpm redline options do not fix an issue where the stock torque converter unlocks beyond stock redline, but they'll fix that if you mail in your ECU to them, which they can turn around in 1 business day for you.

As has been said, heat soak is heat soak. Being one of the most technologically-advanced mainstream production V8's in history, even the stock tune is sensitive to heat, and on CoTA last summer, I noticed this in RR Racing's tune as well. She feels much stronger in colder weather. For the same reason, a 45MW power turbine I help manage makes much more power when IAT's are low. It's simple physics.

I emailed them and they told me even if I mail the ECU it will still unlock past 6800 rpm

That's cool! But what is this torque converter unlocking mean? I know the F has the power up top and would love to extract more of it.
