I have a 2012 w/ 11.1 data ver., my current Climate screen just has a row of rectangle buttons
I saw this pic of a 2013
If I update my ver. to 14.1 will I get this new interface?
What does yours look like, by year?
That's much better looking for sure! I'd also like to know this, if we can just upgrade to the newer version, maybe calling the dealership? I know when i asked to get the updated maps (mine is 2010), it was $100 for the CD to update it through them.
Sorry but no, the Nav information upgrade does not change the basic
Nav system including the Bluetooth phone and Climate displays.
Playing a new release album on a 50's Philco turntable will still
sound...vintage.

So what you're saying is..if we do an update say from the 2011 to the 2014 NAV software pkg we will not be able to use the txt notification feature as in all the newer ISF's?

I'd be interesting in knowing this as well, is the hardware the same from 2011-2014? If so you would think a software update might get you some of those features. Was just talking about how I'd like to see texts on my nav screen today on my 2011
edit: Also just realized this was my first post as a new owner. Guess I should post pics in the other thread.
as far as i know when you upgrade the nav system it only updates the maps and not software or looks of the system.
Yeah that is probably closer to reality, there is enough controlled via the nav display that any change in any of the components probably runs the risk of the software being incompatible. I'll ask the dealer next time I have the chance.
Unfortunately, you only get the updated maps and not interface. I tried to ask if there is a way to get the Enform apps installed from Lexus corporate and they told me this is not possible. If the car didn't come with it from the beginning then there is no way of getting it installed after.
Maybe our friends at RRRacing can break the display interface code and give us an even better updated interface....
I bet if they break the code they could probably also give us GPS access and DVD access without any hardware trickery, just reprogram the software to let it happen (with the appropriate safety disclaimer of course).
No one in the performance industry is looking at solving this problem. Fly Audio has/had a full replacement with more features, but despite it all, the other ECUs on Lexus vehicles are not being targeted by the aftermarket. I did see a Russian website describing some software mods to the A/C ECU, but there has been so little interest in hacking these devices, no one in the commercial space has said anything about hacking them.
