So this happened today. Anyone have suggestions? I haven't been able to find the plastic piece without buying the whole carbon fiber center console.

 

Ouch - that sux. Interesting thing is the way it appears on Sewell's parts diagram it's hard to tell which part it's actually connected to (the top or the bottom). Not sure if you've tried taking it apart yet, or if somebody else has experience, but you may just try giving them a call to see if they can tell you for sure. Worst case have you checked your local scrap yards? While I could be wrong I have to imagine that parts the same for all IS models.?.?.?

 

Sucks. Is it actually broken? Can't really tell on my phone. I would start by removing the center surround and see what is going on. Maybe it somehow detached?

 

If it is broken, I can confirm it's the same for all IS models. I just happen to have my center console apart right now, so here's a pic of what the piece looks like:

That's it exactly!! Mine is broken on both sides. Thanks for the pictures. Is there any sort of part number on it? Otherwise, I definitely think junkyards are going to be my best bet. I haven't tried taking my console apart to see if I could piece it back together yet.

I took my center console apart as well. I needed to clean mine. It is very easy to take apart and do yourself.

The back broke on its own. I guess with the cold. I shifted into park and then the back was just open. The front broke because I was being boneheaded and fiddling with it after the back broke. Basically fell apart in my hands.

Thanks for all the help guys. Haven't had a chance to get around to ordering parts yet.

 

Funny, I just noticed you have a spot at the same place as mine. I took mine apart just to clean it up, and for the life of me could not get that spot to come out. I might as well just order another one. They aren't too expensive.
