Default 2012 ISF basic warranty vs CPO

I am looking at buying a 2012 ISF with 12K miles. It is through the lexus dealer as a CPO. I am trying to get them to go lower on the price and basically they said they can if i don't choose the CPO warranty. Based on the age of this car and miles this car still has 38 months or 38K miles left on the basic manufacture warranty. The CPO would give me 36 months or 100K. Since it already has been through the CPO inspection and has new tires and brakes. What am i missing out on if I don't pay the $1K they are willing to go down if they don't give me the CPO warranty? We don't drive a lot so i am fine with the left over manufacturer warranty. Am i missing something?

You will be fine with the non cpo considering you get 2 extra months of warranty. Basic drivetrain is covered 5 years 70k miles too so I think you are good saving that 1K

if its only $1k I would keep the CPO, that could easily be one repair. Unless you dont plan to keep car past the remaining warranty. How much longer does the CPO give you over basic warranty?

He will have to drive well over 38k miles in 36 months in order to make the cpo worth it. Is cpo even bumper to bumper? If not then the remain of 5 years 70k mile powertrain is actually longer than the cpo. Remember that his bumper to bumper remaining factory warrantee is actually 2 months longer than the CPO! He even stated that he won't be driving it too much. This is the one case that skipping the cpo makes much more sense

The CPO is a comprehensive warranty. So yes, it is bumper to bumper.
