I think the bottom line is that the car, like all performance vehicles , may just need to get to an appropriate operating temperature. I live on a mountain side and I go up and down hill with my 2010 and have never noticed a thing. Not saying its all just temps but it seems like a majority of the people with this issue say its gone when the car is warm. I always start my car and let it idle for a minute at least ( sometime a few minutes if I need to let me dogs out or update my ipod for the ride to work ). The car just seems happier to take a few launches and some abuse when she is warmed up. I just think of an proball player warming up .
...For those of you thinking this is normal, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. But, after going through this with my ES, it is anything but normal.
The flare problem with the ES is well documented. Flare issues with the AA80E gearbox are unknown. Your car may have an issue, but there is absolutely nothing in common with the ES FWD transaxle and the IS-F transmission except Aisin, the manufacturer's name. Transmission issues with IS-Fs have been very few.
You'd get a lot more traction if you said you hear marbles in a coffee can at idle. But that's not a gearbox issue.

Agreed, I understand the difference in rear and front-wheel transmissions, but the sensation and the results are exactly the same; a 500 to 1,000-RPM sudden increase during initial acceleration.
The flaring instances seem to be decreasing as our morning temperatures are increasing. This was our first winter with our F, so it may be an intermittent issue during colder temperatures. Time will tell.
I also get the flare on my 08 more in cold temps. It only happens sometimes in stop and go traffic or when I pull up to a stop sign abd don't fully stop once I tap the gas it flares a little. Was a little worried at first but send like it is more common than I thought.
