Default Weird transmission behavior

Has anyone noticed this...when the engine has yet to reach nominal temp (first 5 minutes driving the car), the transmission seems to get "stuck" in 5th gear. I would accelerate from a stop at a very moderate pace to about 50 MPH. At 50 MPH, I take my foot completely off of the gas pedal. At that point, the transmissions remains in 5th gear. After maybe another couple of minutes of driving, I do the same thing, and the car switches into 6th gear while cruising around 50 MPH.

Anyone notice similar behavior? Thanks

that si normal. it wont go to 6th until car is warmed up. weird isnt it? i believe it is for reduction in emissions (althoughy my guess would be fuel economy suffers some)

Not to pick on you, but please read the car manual and facts section. Many of your questions will be answered there.

this was already discussed.. same thing happens with my car and i noticed that your engine needs to be warmed up first on the meter before it will hit 6th gear
