Default LS460L Transmission

Test Drove a 2007 LS460L a couple times over the last few days. I was wondering a little about the transmission. This particular car didn't feel like it was slipping, but I definitely could feel the gear changes, like a very quick jolt. Jolt is too strong of a word probably, but it felt different than my A8, a comparable car on some fronts. Any thoughts on whether it feels different since there are 8 speeds it's going through, or has anyone else noticed this?
Certainly I don't want to find out there is an issue after purchase since it isn't a CPO.
Any insight, experience is appreciated. Looking forward to possibly being a part of the "club".

Shifting gears should be jolt free.

GS400jon - thanks. I'm thinking it should be smoother than it was.

In the normal driving conditions, I don't notice the gear changes unless I keep my eye on the rpm gauge.

Other than that, nothing is noticeable.

If I take off with the car cold the first shift as I pull away is felt more than normal. After the car gets slightly warmer all shifts feel fine. It was the same in my G35 and GS350. In fact its better in this car than any previous

Default Bad Logic....

I have a 2007 460L and just got mine out of the shop because the tranny was shifting funny... It also would sometimes (rarely but 1 was enough) disengage after coming to a complete stop then rev up before engaging (very bad!).

Dealer called it "Bad ETC logic" and reprogrammed it. Runs like a charm now.
This fix is covered under the 70,000 drivetrain warranty.
