I recently got the "oil maintenance reqd" warning in my dash and would like to know if i wanted to do the oil change myself how would I get rid if that warning. Do I need to plug in a tool to reset that warning?
Also, I'm getting cracking sounds from my subwoofer so I'm guessing its time to change it as many have had problems with the ML sub. Is there an aftermarket solution for the replacement. I have done a search and read a lot about it and found tha most people went with a custom fabricated enclosure and a bigger sub in the trunk. Is there any aftermarket sub that could replace the stock ML in the same enclosure cause I wouldn't wanna buy a new sub that is known for blowing easily.
Thanks

The oil maint warning should be able to just be reset from your touch screen in the setting and maint setting category. You can set all the different items to whatever mileage or date you want to.
The warning light is in the small screen in the instrument cluster not on the nav screen. I actually have the maintenance schedule set up on the nav unit and have another 1100 miles before my service is actually supposed to be due.
A few days ago it said "oil maintenance reqd soon" when I first started the car and went away in about 5 seconds. I assumed since there was just 1200 or so miles to go it gave me a reminder. But now it says "oil maintenance required" and it stays the whole time.
For those that do their oil changes themselves, how do you go about resetting that warning.

Use the search button.
Make sure your odo is showing the cars mileage(not on trip). Hold down the trip reset button. While still holding it press the start button twice without having your foot on the break. You'll see a sequence on your dash, let it finish and your done

Thanks for the input. Il give that a shot. Just out of curiosity what mileage is the car programmed to give that warning? Is it 5k miles ?

About the sub, your not gonna be able to replace it directly with anything that'll work better. Your options are to replace the oem sub or just got aftermarket route

No, the warning is not adjustable. The maintenance function and the oil change indication are completely independent. The dash light is fixed at 5k miles. I really wish I could change it, but it is not possible.Originally Posted by staman

I'm gonna attempt the silicone or glue fix that has been mentioned a few times in various threads. If it works out well and good, othetwise ill have to go the aftermarket routeOriginally Posted by DCoolBeans
