Default Weird noises

I've had this weird noise coming from front passenger side for about a month or so now. It almost sounds like rubbing but it's not. It mostly happens when I turn the steering wheel to make a left turn (especially driving slowly like in the parking lot or making a U-turn). Has anyone had similar issue? or know what's going on?

Also, when I'm at a stop in Drive, the whole car vibrates but it goes away when I put into Neutral. Does it have something to do with brake fluid or brake system?

I wanted to ask the forum members before I take it into my mechanic or Lexus dealer for inspection. Any kind of helpful input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

It would seem so.

How odd. No one else is reporting this issue despite track days and high mileage. To what do you attribute this? Magic sparkplugs?

I've had my mechanic check it out last night and the "rubbing" sound coming from front passenger side seems like steering rack issue. I hope it's covered under warranty. Vibration part is still a mystery....MAYBE spark plugs as shyguyF has mentioned above or perhaps motor mount??

If my A/C is off, my car idles at 500RPM, there is a slight vibration bc the motor is idling so low......with A/C on, idles at 650-700RPM and no vibration being channelled through the chassis.......
Could this be what you're referring to?????

It's been getting a bit chilly so I haven't turned the A/C on for a while haha it might be tho, so I'll check it out again.

Thanks

Lights off does the same thing. Lights on = 700 rpm. I usually just leave my parking lights on so it doesn't go down to 500 and shake.

Okay, so the dealer mechanic said it's the passenger side header touching to motor mount. FYI, I have Sikky headers on and I've never heard of this issue of header touching the motor mount. So I've taken it back to the shop that installed the headers for me. He's managed to make more clearance between the header and motor mount. Now, the header is touching the body. So, when I'm making left turns and the engine loads to that side, it's either touching the motor mount or the body. Funny thing is, I've told them that it was making that noise even when I've had the oem headers on. Of course they just shrugged...idiots...

On the shaking part, they said it's the computer kinda tripping out with idle...once again idiots... and it's normal for the IS models according to them. So now what?? Do I call Sikky and tell them that one of the headers they sold me keep touching the motor mount and the body?

It's the chance you take when you purchase after market products. You hope the company does enough R&D and has decent quality control.

Weird. I would at least contact Sikky to get their advice. I don't think they are to blame or responsible, but they may provide some advice or tips from previous experience.

It sounds to me like the motor mounts are weaker than they should be. At first the right-side was making noise. Now after adjustment, it's the left. I haven't heard of such tight clearance issues like this before. Were these the first batch of headers or something?

Noise is still coming from the right (passenger side). Left side has never been the problem. I've emailed Sikky in regards to this issue. Let's see what they say...pretty sure they won't replace the header. I've had the master tech @ Lexus dealer check the motor mount and they said it's perfectly fine. Well I'll eventually figure it out...

I actually had this issue, to me it reminded me of a CV joint being out. Dealership took apart steering rack hardware- replaced with new hardward and lube it and no more noises. PM me if you need more info.
