Introduction! And a quick question
Hi all,
This is my first post here after joining you all as an IS-F owner a few months ago. I figure I'd lead off with a shot of my baby:

So far I've gone with the ISS Forged exhaust (DES) and a Takeda intake. Next up I've decided to pick up PPE headers and this brings me to my question.
If I do decide to go with no cats, will I have any CEL issues? What about inspections?
Also, does anyone know if on the PPE's cats can be added later? My import guy wasn't sure.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome and congrats! The headers will have something that will take care of the obdII scan however you will probably fail sniffer w/o cats. You can weld on any cats to your system later on but they will most likely fail after a while, just go catless!
Inspections are different for every state, but if you remove the cats, you'll fail both visual and smog tests unless you've got a "hook up" that will pass you anyway. Also, the Federal Clean Air Act forbids any tampering with emissions control devices (ie: the catalytic converters), so technically you're violating that too.
Now any car enthusiast knows that removing the cats usually means more power, and thousands of people do it all the time, but be prepared to figure out a way to get past emissions if you do it. I'm sure you could have an exhaust shop weld cats in place on your system, but a.) you'll be reducing a lot of the gains you got by adding the headers in the first place, and b.) you'll probably foul up the cats anyway.
Oh, and welcome! The car looks great, and the 2012s have, by far, the best factory rims.

You also have the option of putting your stock exhaust back on. I'm pretty sure you will pass visual, not sure about smog though.
