that much oil wouldn't hurt a thing the marks on dipstick are where it is absolutely safe. a bit over won't hurt a thing. a lot of oil will get whipped up

 

Oil floats on water. I've seen high dipstick readings that have resulted from coolant leaking into the crankcase past bad head gaskets, etc. How's the coolant level and is there any indication of water in the oil?
