sunroof problem

Exclamation sunroof problem

when i close my sunroof it almost closes then re opens by its self..wtf right.. ne way if i disconnect the battery and "reset" my system will that fix the problem? does ne one know?

No it will not repair itself this way the system is probably in Jam Protection mode. This is locked in the memory (EEPROM) and will not be cleared by resetting the battery.

First check that all of the rails are free and clear of debris that might cause the blockage. It is possible it is also just sticking or binding from dry weatherstripping or guide rails and may not require an initialization, does the tilt and other functions continue to operate properly?

You may have to go through a re-initialization procedure, similar to the door glass.

i also suggest going through the initialization process again

Mine does that every once in awhile. I just move the switch to open then close and it shuts fine. Problem mine has is this horrible squeal when it opens and closes. Oh well, it's gone after next week so the Lexus dealer can fix it lol.

I get that squeal only when I open it. Just started happening recently too. Anyone else have this problem before?

I had this happen like two days ago. So I opened it completely drove for a minute and set it back to auto and everything went back to normal.
