Question ISF CD help

I posted in the audio/video forum a few days ago and got a bunch of views, but no responses. I thought I'd try this forum because it's specific to the car model. I also tried searching but didn't find any information, so I apologize if this was discussed before.

My problem: For the life of me, my ML unit doesn't list the track names. It just says CD 1, CD 2, CD 3 and Track 1, Track 2, Track 3, etc.

My 10 year old cd player at home can list the track name on these CD's.

Any ideas what's going on? I tried pushing every damn button and reading the 300+ page manual but am out of ideas.

Any help?

Im not sure if it lists the tracks on a regular cd. I do know for sure that it lists the track if its an mp3 disk. My recommendations, upgrade the songs to a mp3 disk. U will be able to hold 50 times more music on the same disk.(and u will have the names of your tracks)

Bummer.

It's a little disappointing that Lexus's $3,000 Mark Levinson premium sound system can't do what my $100 CD player from a decade ago can do (list the CD and track names).

I suppose I can switch to MP3, but I wanted the best sound quality, so I wanted to use the original CD's. I guess I'll try MP3's later this week.

Thanks for the info. It's a minor point in the grand scheme of things, but come on, for $3,000 it should have the functionality of 10 year old CD players.

True, for 3000 dollars it should have the same capabilities as 10 year old C.D player...Then agian Lexus isint putting in cassete players in their cars anymore either..lol. Bottom line ur right, but hey..U stiill got to love the fact that u have an IS-F and a bunch of people who want 1, DONT... Take the good with the bad...

it depend on CD. If it is burned with TEXT option in cd, then it shows...everything depends on cd.

In some thread, someone told what to look for on CD case when u buy new. There must be "TEXT" written on back of case..

I have a few CDs that do, but most don't.. I wouldn't buy a CD just because it has that feature, but it is nice when it does.. I definitely would stick with CDs/DVDs for better audio quality..
