A car like this i doubt that you'll ever get the chance to test drive one. I say if you can afford one and you like it, then buy it. I'm happy with every Lexus i purchase and don't expect that to change with the is-F/

Why would say that? I think after the initial "spoken for" allocations are met and dealers start getting a sample in the showroom, I think test drives will not be out of the question. For example, if I walked into the BMW dealership and they have an M3 at the dealer, they were more than happy to let me drive it. This is not a limited production or bto vehicle.

Hopefully it will start at $67691 CDN, if it goes over $74694 CDN which would still be reasonable seeing the RS4 starts at over $90k CDN.

Thing that I dislike it is a FWD car. Not sure how it would fair in winter here in Montreal.

I'm confused by your change from future to past tense. Have you walked into a BMW dealer and asked to drive an M3 (which is usually on the showroom floor, if at all) and they allowed you to test drive it? Because none of my local BMW dealers are anywhere near that friendly.

Yes, that's exactly right. I never bought a BMW before from this dealer. The salesman walked up to me, I told him I was looking at the M3 and he asked if I wanted a test drive. I do know that this dealer has a very good reputation for treating its customers right.

This is of course was the E46 as the new model is not yet out.

I hope the $63K price is out the door. If not, they are on crack if they think it will sell at that price (just my opinion).

As I mentioned in the other thread, I had lunch last week with my sales guy from my local dealership as well as a friend of his from TMS. He does not work in any capacity with pricing models, but told me that what they're hearing internally is that TMS is trying very hard to have the base price for the IS-F at $55k, which is good news for those who are complaining they wouldn't pay more than that.

No more guessing... $56K for the base, which with NAV and "junk" should bump up to $62K or so. Not too bad... not too bad at all for a car my wife can drive too.

I truly am curious to see will the market really buy a high performance IS-F or will it sell (gulp) slow...

I think 60k for the initial cars without the pre-crash is good.
