I hope Lexus is watching also... I would be very sad if this car failed due to it being poorly priced. Wouldn't it be great if Lexus priced it aggressivly on the low side and built a ton of demand... It would be a great starting point for their F line of cars.

Base on the polls above so far, I'd like to see how long it would take for them to sell out the $68K Neiman Marcus Edition IS-F (I know there's only 50 of them available) . . .

Default Pricing

For what it's worth, received this email today when I asked a local dealer about price & waiting list length:

"There are about three people on the list so far. The vehicle is going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-60k."

With the base price looking like it will be $60,000, based on the recent magazine articles, it looks like Lexus has lost over 90% of the potential buyers on this board.

hopefully it isn't 60k base...cuz there isn't much of a difference between the NM version of the car (which is fully loaded)...

I'm definitely not getting it if the price is $60K for a base no options IS-F. That seems like about $10K more than it should cost, IMO. If they price it like that, it will not sell in the quantity Lexus is hoping for. It will be limited production for good reason. Limited numbers of people will want it. Even a large majority of the IS-F sub-forum enthusiasts wont want it as evidenced by the poll here. If you go by the numbers at the my.is site, even fewer people would be interested in it. At my.is, over 40% would not pay more than $50K and over 60% would not pay more than $52K.

Actually, the reason I am a member of this forum and 2 others is because I'm considering purchasing the IS-F. I would not be here otherwise. I always thoroughly research any car before buying it. I believe that the people that visit the IS-F sub-forum here are precisely the people who are most informed, and most likely to be considering the car. There are few people who would walk into a showroom and buy the IS-F without doing some reasearch. Not everyone will know about this forum though.

The stock IS350 is only half a second slower than the IS F and the louder V8 engine on the IS F makes it less luxurious than my IS350, if I wanted to drive faster and make lots of engine noise I will get me a vette better

Hopefully it would be the zo6 with the butterfly valves, unless you get them as an option on the regular

That was just a rumor. By time the time of SEMA, all the specs were to come out and they have since the Oct 25 embargo.

Pricing is still being set as we speak. In regular Lexus fashion, pricing should be very competitive.

I sure do hope so . . . any idea of when it will be released though - any new rumors ?
