Default 08-09 side mirror covers

I have not found this info anywhere else so maybe it will help someone in the future...

For cosmetic reasons, paint chips and a hairline crack, I wanted to replace the side mirror covers on my 09 IS F but, for
some reason Lexus does not list side mirror replacement covers for the 08-09 IS F, only the 10-14 model years.
They only list the full side mirror assembly available at a cost of $450, not what I was hoping to spend.

After doing some research it seams the 10-14 years use the same mirrors as the is250/350, and they will not fit the 08-09 (yes I tried)...
So after more research I found that the 08-09 years use the side mirrors from the 07-09 es350 w/premium package. Why Lexus and other
parts suppliers don't list this I do not know...

So if anyone would like to replace just the side mirror covers for the 08-09 models
The part numbers are:

driver side: 8794A-33740
passenger side: 8791A-33760

old inner cover:

new inner cover:

old and new side by side:

new on the car:

@mike33 Why didn't the is250/350 fit your 08-09? I have a 2010 and was trying to do the same thing. I looked up an interchangeable part but I got a cover that was much too large for my mirror assembly. I’m wondering when the cutoff for the different style was and if your part # would work for my 10.

Yes the 250/350 was a bit taller if I remember correctly. The important thing is to match the shape of the opening on the inner cover that goes
around the the base that the mirror attaches to. Look at my pics for reference, if your current mirror matches that, then the part# I referenced
should work for you.

There are 3 styles of 2IS mirrors, though variations exist within those types (heated, folding, etc.).

2006-2008 IS Sedan (excl. IS F) - These have the largest mirror and no turn signals
2008-2014 IS F - These have a slightly smaller mirror than the earlier sedan and no turn signals
2009-2013 IS Sedan (excl. IS F) and 2010-2015 IS C - These have the smallest mirror and added turn signals

Jeff, thank you for chiming in, I know you have access to all the part numbers.

Does Lexus list a part # for just the covers only?

What I found was only a part # for the full mirror assembly, and not just the covers,
which is why I started the thread.

I found that the IS F shares the covers with the 07-09 es350, not sure if they share the
full assemblies also. Either way Lexus does not show this on the online dealer parts sites.

This is great info because both my mirrors have cracks in the finish. I don't think it goes through the cover but I have not pulled them yet to find out.

Unfortunately, it appears it won't help me, as the ES didn't come with a USB color.

Oh I know. I was trying to prevent a trip to the body shop and just get some replacements. The paint is cracking at the mirror mount base as well. I will likely just remove them from the car as some point and dissasemble them for them to repaint all the pieces and save a bit of labor.

Would you be able to take a measurement of the height and width of your mirror glass? I’m hesitant to risk removing and breaking my glass to see the part number behind it.

Last picture shows a part# on the cover that should be the same as yours...
This is not actually the part# for the cover but, I think, a reference to the mirror that fits the cover.
I would remove the mirror to verify this number.

I took a chance during the 20% off sale. I went with “Silver MM” hoping it was close enough for 1F2. Well fitment is perfect for my 2010 great and matches very close. Thanks for doing the legwork on this @mike33.
