I managed to hit the passenger side mirror when reversing from the garage. The outer cover is damaged, holding it together with some Gorilla tape. The mirror itself is not damaged. I was wondering if anyone managed to change just the outer cover OR if I need to replace the entire mirror assembly?
Also here's the part diagram Can someone confirm if 87915, 87915A, 87939 & 81730 is what makes up the outer cover? My current mirror has heat, memory, Blindspot monitoring, and no panoramic view.
Anyone has experience buying aftermarket parts from 3rd party website, please let me know
thanks
I've never replaced this on my NX, but if it's similar to my CT, you'll only need to replace the exterior shell assuming it's still in tact and the whole mirror isn't hanging off. Can you get a picture of what you broke?
To repair this, you have to pull off the glass mirror. If you think you can do it yourself, be very careful as that mirror piece is super fragile and probably the most expenisve part. When I cracked mine, it was $300 for just the glass.
I tried taking some pics but right now its duct-taped to cover all cracks so it won't be much helpful. I am planning to take it apart over the weekend to make a note of all damaged parts.
This may help. The upper cover is retained by clips and can be pried off with nylon trim tools.
I managed to grab a picture. It looks like I have to replace all 3 pieces highlighted below. The white residue is from Gorilla tape. Do you happen to have any instructions for taking out the inner trim piece on the left side of the pic? Also The LED blinker is working fine and I am hoping it is a separate piece by itself and doesn't have to be replaced. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
As I interpret the Lexus NX disassembly instructions, the component on the left side of your image is the base to which the covers snap on and all other parts are mounted. There does not to be any parts available separately other than those marked with an identifying number in the drawing copied below. The turn signal is #4 and is a separate part.
My recommendation is to ask the Parts person at a Lexus Dealer to show you the "exploded" parts view on their computer, to see if any other components can possibly be purchased separately from Lexus.

This page has prices for all variants of the complete mirror assemblies. The simplest (no defrost heater, dimming, or blind spot indicator) costs ~$300, and includes all of the covers, new mirror glass, and turn signal. The "mid price" version costs ~$531 and adds some or all of the features mentioned above. Finally, there is a "deluxe" ~$928 option that also includes the camera for models with the panoramic view option installed.
What I do not know is if one can purchase the $300 variant and successfully transfer components from a higher trim level mirror into it. This might be possible if the assembly is modular and assembled with screws and/or clips. It will be a lot harder if plastic welding was used instead. A visit to a high-end collision center with a box of donuts ( a form of currency here in New England ) might get you that answer. They might even have a damaged mirror laying around that could be studied.
Same as the previous post but driver's mirror.
any idea where i can get the cover only. As all other parts are functional and intact. For a nx300 2018 F sport3.
Do the previous covers in other posts, have a place for side camera ?
thanks.
