Default Starter install with headers

I'm going to get my PPE headers installed and wanted to be proactive and pickup a new starter to be installed because of it's location (car has 82k on it). Any advice on any extra parts I should order besides the starter itself? Was also going to change the spark plugs while I'm at it.

New Parts list so far:
PPE Headers w/GESI EPA cats
All gaskets for headers
OEM O2 Sensors for headers
OEM Denso Spark Plugs
High Spark Ignition Coils (car will be tuned by Loi after everything is installed)
OEM Denso Starter
Other parts needed?

If you haven't already I would definitely replace the motor mounts, personally I used RR racing mounts and they are far superior to oem.

I would also wrap the O2 wires and extension harness in some type of heat wrap to protect them. Something like this:

Are you me? My car (2010, 80k miles) is in the shop now getting PPE UEL installed, been there a couple of weeks waiting for parts after motor mounts were found to be bad. Luckily was able to snag a set of headers at the last minute. My stock manifold was completely separated on the passenger side, I'm glad we checked because I've been wanting to do headers forever.

FWIW I've been reading so many threads (been lurking forever, finally joined to post this) about headers and O2 sensors. I also talked to Paul at PPE. Based on this post by LILEVO, Paul's advice, and CEL posts, I think we are going to try this route, skipping the extensions and trying to route up around the transmission to keep the wires away from heat. Also eliminates a point of failure with the extensions. I'm going to replace the O2 sensors with the Densos as well.

I just read last night that it was recommended to replace the starter but I'm not sure whether I should go for it... my total bill is already climbing up there! I know I should probably do it...

I have been running coated PPE headers since 50k miles and now have almost 200k miles on the original starter. Maybe I’m lucky, but no starter issues yet.

IMO Replace the starter. It lives right under the headers and takes a lot of heat.
Had my PPE's ceramic coated to reduce heat.

I added a layer of heat shield over the new starter when I installed the novel headers.

also insulated the power steering ECU connectors

Made my own extensions for the O2 sensors and routed them way up almost to the top of bell housing

Also, good idea to heat wrap the motor mounts. whichever one you have.

Any of you use the Figs motor mounts? I was looking at those or the RR racing. The Figs motor mounts look like they may not make the car vibrate as much at idle?

I use Figs engine mounts on both the IS F and RC F. There’s some vibration at 500rpm when idling in gear, goes away in neutral or with lights or AC on.

Mine does that now. I wonder if the mounts have already been changed. Hmm

Wow that looks great. Thanks for the pictures. I wish I had the time and space to do it properly like that. I will try to add some additional shielding to the wires at least.

I decided to go with the stock motor mounts to reduce the vibrations since this is my DD. I obviously haven't experienced any others but I've read that there is some extra vibration. If I get another 80k miles out of them I'll be content.

I did go with FIGS LCA bushings and am thrilled with them; can't recommend them enough!

Related question, does anyone know is the Denso starter (2800370) is shared with any Toyota vehicles?

Everything I've read says it works with 1URFSE and 2URGSE which would be Lexus only, I believe. I'm not a mechanic but it may be the same as used on 1URFE which are found in some TLCs, Sequoias, and Tundras (per Wikipedia).

Finally got my car back this morning with the headers installed and....I know it's been said a hundred times here...damn! This is how the car should have come from the factory! I think it sounds perfect with stock exhaust - now I can actually hear the engine through the exhaust at lower RPMs before the intake opens up, and it doesn't drown out the induction noises at higher RPMs. My butt dyno can definitely feel the bump in power too. I'm glad I was able to do this upgrade. I did end up replacing the starter as well, I figured it was the right thing to do while everything was disassembled. To everyone who commented, thanks again for the input. Good luck with your install Silver.
