Default Headlight out on ISC250

My passenger headlight is out on my ISC250. Only 70k miles and still under certified warranty, but dealer said it is not covered and I think they quoted around $250.

Other options that anyone suggests? Can I repair this myself and if so, what do I need?

Thanks!

If you do any amount of driving at night, that bulb did you a favor by going out. HID bulbs will light up well past their "useful life." They will light up even when output is at 60% of original output.

You can get a pair of D4S bulbs here for less than $80. You'd probably have to install it yourself, but it's not too difficult.

These are all assuming you're driving a 2011+ ISc. The 2010s came with a halogen headlamp option, and you don't need D4S HID bulbs for the halogen lamps.

Thank you for the two replies!

i do have a 2010, but it has the HID lights. The housing is different than 2011+, but I’m 99% sure they are hid.

I’m not sure how to verify 100%.

Also, on the install, does anyone have any videos or quick tips? Is it as simple as removing some of the plastic cover and just installing in headlight assembly?

Again, thank you!!!!

If you have HID lights on a 2010, they should do an "eyeroll" when you start the car and turn on the lights.

Another way to check is to turn on the high-beams. The high-beams are halogen on all years of the ISc. The low-beams can either be HID or halogen. If the low-beams are halogen, then they should roughly match the color of the halogen high-beams (sort of yellow). If the low-beams are HID, there should be a pretty dramatic color difference.

Changing the bulbs is relatively simple, nothing too hard. First time took me about an hour. There was a fair number of covers to remove, and I had to remove the airbox for better access.
