Default 2010 is350 c

GM I own a 2010 is350c and for the third time this year the top won't go back up. After being down for hours I would get no response when lifting up on the switch. Is it possible that this is a sign that the alternator or battery. is going bad. I retried the switch while pressing on gas pedal and the top began to cycle.

Just take your car to any auto parts store (AutoZone, O'Reilly, Advanced, etc.) and they should be able to test your alternator and battery with both in the car for free. They should all have a handheld, portable machine that connects to your battery terminals and can check the electrical system. Takes like 2 minutes tops.

I had the same problem with my 2010 ISC. It turned out to be a bad microswitch. I would get a long (maybe a minute) error tone when I tried to put the top up.

The car will generate OBD error codes that start with the letter B for body that can guide the repair process. But most of the cheap OBD code readers will not read the B codes.

I took the car to a lexus dealer because I couldn't find any other place that would touch it. I mentioned Lexus convertible and I was hustled out at gunpoint. It wasn't cheap either, $2500.

I did a thread on it and maybe you want to read it - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...p-problem.html

Are you getting an error tone? Two (?) years later, the top did want to go up again and it did not give an error tone. That time I wiggled, pushed, pulled and pounded on every part of the top I could get to and it went up. It has been working fine since then, but I feel it is a ticking time bomp waiting to explode.
