Best to use a panel removal tool. But if you don't have one..
- Use both hands... Grab the edge closest to the windshield/rearview mirror. (I find it easier to pull down near the middle of the housing instead of the corners.)
- Give it a good pull downwards. Should pop right off. (make sure you have 4 push clips attached to the light housing, if not its probably still stuck in the roof.)
- Unclip the wire harness (not necessary, but guarantees not blowing the fuse.)
- Twist the bulb holder off the circuit board.
- Pull the factory bulb straight out. Replace with LED wedge bulb and test polarity. (if it doesn't light up, flip the bulb 180. If it still doesn't light up adjust the 2 contact wires on the led bulb and make sure it's making good contact with the bulb holder contact points.)
- Once everything is tested and working.. Line up the housing and push straight up to snap the 4 clips back into the roof.

This only works for standard wedge (194) bulbs.

If you ended up with a circuit board LED, you need to gently pop the clear lens off the light housing. Use the thinest flat head screwdriver you can find. If you look closely, you'll see where the lens clips in. There are a total of 6 clip locations if I remember correctly. (2 on each short side, 1 on each long side). I found it easiest to pop the lens along the corner and the short edge. Once you get the corner to pop out a little, just grab it and carefully pull the entire lens off. Be gentle with the screwdriver otherwise you will gouge the plastic.

I used these 15SMD LED boards and they are super bright, but this was 7 years ago. Technology might have changed now. I dunno, I stopped keeping up with LEDs.

How do you remove the smaller dome lights on the rear passenger seats? Trying to take off the headliner to clean it.
